Professor Lilian Obiageli Orogbu is a Nigerian academic and politician. [1] She is one of only 17 women elected to the 10th National Assembly. She is elected to the Federal House of Representatives from Awka North/Awka South Federal Constituency of Anambra State on the ticket of Labour Party, LP.

Career

Lilian Orogbu is a professor of Business Administration at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. She was elected to the 10th House of Representatives from Awka North/Awka South Federal Constituency on 25 February 2023 on the ticket of LP. She polled 34,713 votes to beat her major challengers, the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Obi Nwankwo who scored 24,814 votes, and the candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP Emeka Igwe who received 21,850 votes. [2] Orogbu is one of only 17 women elected to the 10th National Assembly of 469 members comprising the Senate and House of Representatives. [3] [4]

The 2023 Enugu State gubernatorial election took place on 18th March 2023, to elect the Governor of Enugu State, with Peter Mbah declared winner alongside his running mate Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai of the Peoples Democratic Party (Nigeria), after they got the plurality of votes and won over 25% of the votes in two-third of the state. Mr Mbah polled 160,895 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the Labour Party (Nigeria) candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, who scored 157,552 votes. The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Frank Nweke Jr, garnered 17,983 votes to come a distant third, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uche Nnaji, placed fourth, with 14,575 votes. The election was contested in the Tribunal by Chijoike Edeoga but the tribunal eventually upheld the victory of Peter Mbah.

The 2023 Nigerian House of Representatives elections were held on 25 February 2023 where voters elected members of the House of Representatives using first-past-the-post voting in all 360 federal constituencies. The last regular House elections for all districts were in 2019.

Chimaobi Ebisike is a Nigerian politician, member of the 9th Federal House of Representatives in from Aba North/ Aba South Federal Constituency of Abia State.

Israel Sunny-Goli is a Nigerian politician and member of the Federal House of Representatives in the 9th National Assembly. He was a member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly before his election to the National Assembly.
