No Doubt is an American rock band from Anaheim, California, formed in 1986. For most of its career, the band has consisted of vocalist and founding member Gwen Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young. Keyboardist Eric Stefani, Gwen's brother, was also a former member when the band started to release albums in 1992. Since the mid-1990s, trombonist Gabrial McNair and trumpeter Stephen Bradley have performed with the band as session and touring musicians.
Zwan was an American alternative rock supergroup formed in 2001 by lead singer and guitarist Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, from The Smashing Pumpkins. Other members included bassist Paz Lenchantin of A Perfect Circle, and guitarists David Pajo of Slint, and Matt Sweeney. The band released only one album, Mary Star of the Sea (2003), before breaking up acrimoniously that year during their world tour to promote the album.
A Perfect Circle is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. A Perfect Circle released three of their four studio albums in the early 2000s: their debut Mer de Noms in 2000, a follow-up, Thirteenth Step in 2003; and an album of radically re-worked cover songs, Emotive, in 2004. Shortly after Emotive's release, the band went on hiatus; Keenan returned to Tool and started up solo work under the band name Puscifer, while Howerdel released a solo album, Keep Telling Myself It's Alright, under the moniker Ashes Divide. Band activity was sporadic in the following years; the band reformed in 2010, and played live shows on and off between 2010 and 2013, but fell into inactivity after the release of their greatest hits album, Three Sixty, and a live album box set, A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo in late 2013. The band reformed in 2017 to record a fourth album, Eat the Elephant, which was released in 2018.

Tony Ashwin Kanal is a British-American musician of Indian descent, songwriter and record producer. He is the bassist and co-writer for the rock bands No Doubt and Dreamcar. His musical work outside of the band includes producing and songwriting for artists such as Pink, Weezer, Elan Atias and No Doubt bandmate Gwen Stefani.

He recorded and toured with Green Day during the Nimrod and Warning tours, playing trombone and tenor saxophone. In 2003, he was one of the co-founders the California-based rock band Oslo where he plays the guitar.

The current lineup consists of Henderson (guitar/vocals), Hartt School alumni Rob Griffith (drums/vocals) and Matt Warner (organ/keyboards/vocals), and Patrick "Packy" Fetkowitz (guitar). The name Bronze Radio Return was inspired by an old radio Henderson grew up listening to in his father's art studio in Maine. It is a new wave song that was influenced by the music of the 1980s and compared to the releases of English bands New Order and A Flock of Seagulls, as well as Havok's own work with AFI and Blaqk Audio.

The song was released as a promotional single for the album on April 7, 2017, through Columbia Records, and their second song overall. It is an alternative and new wave song with a dance beat. Stylistically, the song was compared and contrasted with Dreamcar's previous single, "Kill for Candy" (2017). Lyrically, "Born to Lie" discusses someone who has been unable to find or maintain a romantic relationship.

Originally distributed as a promotional single in April, it was later released as the album's second single in July 2017, through Columbia Records. Lead singer Havok was inspired by his friend, American actor Josh Richman, to write a song about "dead girls", resulting in a darker, slightly morbid song. Musically, it is a 1980s-influenced power pop and synth-pop track that contains backing vocals from Dumont, Kanal, and Young. Former No Doubt member Gabrial McNair appears as a keyboardist on the song.
Stig Gustu Larsen, born in 1986 in Hedmark, Norway, is a singer as well as a songwriter best known for his participation in season 5 of The Voice Norway. Larsen started playing guitar and drums at the age of 5, and is the former front-man of the rock band Gustu, signed with FAJo Records in 2019.
New Candys is an Italian alternative rock band formed in Venice in 2008, led by songwriter and singer-guitarist Fernando Nuti with original drummer and current bassist-keyboardist Dario Lucchesi.
