Ossi Saarinen (born December 9, 1986, in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward. [1] He is currently playing for Danish club, IC Gentofte in the Metal Ligaen. Saarinen joined Gentofte on a one-year contract after playing three seasons with KalPa in the Finnish Liiga on September 4, 2014. [2]

He was the captain of Jokerit of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), with whom he has previously won two silver medals as runner-up for the Kanada-malja in 2000 and 2005 in the Finnish Liiga. He was originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes and has additionally played for the Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL).

F-liiga is the highest-tier of floorball for women in Finland. The league was founded as Salibandyn naisten SM-sarja in 1988 by the Finnish Floorball Federation (SSBL). The former name, Naisten Salibandyliiga, was introduced for the 2000–01 season and its current name for the 2020–21 season. The F-liiga is operated by SSBL Salibandy Oy, a limited corporation owned entirely by the Finnish Floorball Federation.

The 2019–20 SM-liiga season was the 45th season of the SM-liiga, the top level of ice hockey in Finland, since the league's formation in 1975. The last two game days of the regular season were scheduled to be played in front of an empty arena due to the Finnish government advising that all public events with more than 500 attendees would be cancelled or postponed. On 13 March, the rest of the season, which included the final round of the regular season and all of playoffs, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Team Kuortane is an ice hockey team in the Naisten Liiga, the premier women's hockey league in Finland. The team was founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2010 as part of its initiative to develop the ice hockey skills of young women in Finland. Tampereen Ilves Naiset are an ice hockey team in the Naisten Liiga, the premier women's ice hockey league in Finland. They are the representative women's team of the multi-sport club Ilves, based in Tampere, Pirkanmaa, and their home arena is the Tesoman jäähalli in Tampere's Tesoma district. They are the only team to have iced a team every season since the establishment of the Naisten SM-sarja in 1982. Kiekko-Espoo is a Finnish professional ice hockey club founded in 2018 as a continuation of the Kiekko-Espoo team originally founded in 1984. Kiekko-Espoo men's team plays in the Mestis, where they have won one championship (2022–23), and the women's team plays in the Naisten Liiga. Kiekko-Espoo's junior teams play at national league levels in U16, U18 and U20 juniors. The junior teams of Espoo Blues and Kiekko-Espoo played under Kiekko-Espoo Juniorit ry until 2014.

Aron Kiviharju is a Danish-born, Finnish ice hockey defenceman for HIFK of the Finnish Elite League (SM-liiga). He is considered one of the most promising players in his age group, and a likely first round pick at the 2024 NHL draft.
