P. A. Antony (1936-1996) was an Indian National Congress politician from Thrissur City. [1] He was the Member of Parliament from Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency,Kerala,in 1984 and 1989.
Thrissur,formerly Trichur,also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur,is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala,India. It is the third largest urban agglomeration in Kerala after Kochi and Kozhikode,and the 21st largest in India. The city is built around a 65-acre (26 ha) hillock called the Thekkinkaadu Maidaanam which seats a large Hindu Shiva Temple. It is located central of the state,and 304 kilometres (189 mi) north-west of the state's capital city,Thiruvananthapuram. Thrissur was once the capital of the Kingdom of Cochin,and was a point of contact for the Assyrians,Greeks,Persians,Arabs,Romans,Portuguese,Dutch and English.
The Thrissur Pooram is an annual temple festival held in Thrissur,Kerala,India. It is held at the Vadakkunnathan (Shiva) Temple in Thrissur every year on the Pooram day—the day when the moon rises with the Pooram star in the Malayalam Calendar month of Medam. It is the largest and most famous of all poorams in India.

Vadakkumnathan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva at city of Thrissur,of Kerala state in India. This temple is a classical example of the architectural style of Kerala and has one monumental tower on each of the four sides in addition to a kuttambalam. Mural paintings depicting various scenes from the Mahabharata can be seen inside the temple. The shrines and the Kuttambalam display vignettes carved in wood. The temple,along with the mural paintings,has been declared as a National Monument by India under the AMASR Act. According to popular local lore,this is the first temple built by Parasurama,the sixth avatara of Vishnu. Thekkinkadu Maidan,encircling the Vadakkumnathan Temple,is the main venue of the renowned Thrissur Pooram festival.
St Thomas' College (Autonomous),Thrissur is a government aided college located in Thrissur City,the Cultural Capital of Kerala,India. Founded by Mar Adolph Medlycott in 1889,this college played a very important role in the development of the State. It is the oldest college in the erstwhile princely state of Cochin and present day Thrissur district. It is the second private college to be recognised as a first grade college under the University of Madras,in then existed princely states of Travancore,Cochin and Malabar which later became mostly the present geographical area of Kerala. It is the first Catholic college in Kerala and is conducted by the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur. Mar Andrews Thazhath is the Patron and Mar Tony Neelankavil is the Manager of the College now.
The college is affiliated with University of Calicut. The College attained Autonomous status in 2014 and was recognised as College with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission in 2016. The College was awarded A Grade in its third cycle of reaccreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) after the peer team review in 2016.

Mushika dynasty, also spelled Mushaka,was a minor dynastic power that held sway over the region in and around Mount Ezhi (Ezhimala) in present-day North Malabar,Kerala,India. The country of the Mushikas,ruled by an ancient lineage of the Hehaya clan of the same name,appears in early historic (pre-Pallava) south India. Early Tamil poems contain several references to the exploits of Nannan of Ezhimalai. Nannan was known as a great enemy of the pre-Pallava Chera chieftains. The clan also had matrimonial alliances with the Chera,Pandya and Chola chieftains. The Kolathunadu (Kannur) Kingdom,which was the descendant of Mushika dynasty,at the peak of its power,reportedly extended from Netravati River (Mangalore) in the north to Korapuzha (Kozhikode) in the south with Arabian Sea on the west and Kodagu hills on the eastern boundary,also including the isolated islands of Lakshadweep in the Arabian Sea.

Pullazhi/Pullazhy is a suburban area of Thrissur City in Kerala state,south India. It is almost 6 km away from Swaraj Round. Pullazhy is surrounded by paddy fields called "Kolpadavu",supervised and controlled by Pullazhi Kolpadavu Sahakarana Sangham. Many of the native families have an agrarian background. The village also contains a library called "Yuvajana Sangham Vayanasala".
Pulikkali is a recreational folk art from the state of Kerala,India. It is performed by trained artists to entertain people on the occasion of Onam,an annual harvest festival,celebrated mainly in the Indian state of Kerala. On the fourth day of Onam celebrations,performers painted like tigers and leopards in bright yellow,red,and black shake their bellies and dance to the beats of instruments like Udukku and Thakil. Literal meaning of Pulikkali is 'The tiger dance' hence the performance revolve around the theme of tiger hunting. Folk art is mainly practiced in Thrissur district of Kerala. The best place to watch the show is at Thrissur on the fourth day of Onam,where Pulikkali troupes from all over the district assemble to display their skills. The festival attracts thousands of people to the Thrissur city. Pulikkali is also performed during various other festive seasons.
