The Antrim County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association or Antrim GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Antrim. The county board is also responsible for the Antrim county teams.

Loughgiel Shamrocks GAC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Loughgiel/Loughguile in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. They are currently the only club in Ulster to have won an All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they first won in 1983. They repeated the feat by defeating Coolderry from Offaly by 4-13 to 0-17 in the All Ireland Club Hurling Final on 17 March 2012. On Sunday 29 September 2013, they achieved their first four in a row of Antrim Senior Hurling Championships by beating Cushendall, in the first final to be staged outside Casement Park since 1990.

The 1982–83 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 13th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, an inter-county knockout competition for Ireland's top championship clubs representing each county. The championship was won by Loughgiel Shamrocks of Antrim, who beat St. Rynagh's of Offaly by 2–12 to 1–12 after a replay in the final. This marked the first occasion in which an Ulster side won an All-Ireland hurling title at senior grade. To date, no Ulster team has managed to add to this achievement.

Páirc Mac Uílín is a Gaelic Athletic Association playing field in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is the home of the McQuillan GAC Ballycastle club, one of the most successful teams in the county. The final was contested by Loughgiel Shamrocks of Antrim and Coolderry of Offaly, with Loughgiel Shamrocks winning by 4-13 to 0-17.

The final was contested by Loughgiel Shamrocks of Antrim and St. Rynagh's of Offaly, with the game ending in a 1-8 to 2-5 draw. The replay took place at Casement Park on 24 April 1983. Loughgiel Shamrocks won that game by 2-12 to 1-12.
Seán "Georgie" Leahy was an Irish hurling manager, coach, selector and player. His league and championship career with the Kilkenny senior team lasted just one season from 1970 until 1971.
The 2018–19 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 49th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 28 October 2018 and ended on 17 March 2019.
