The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R.) at Madurai on 17 October 1972 as a breakaway faction from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam after M. Karunanidhi expelled him from the party for demanding an account as the party treasurer. The party is adhering to the policies of socialism and secularism based on the principles of C. N. Annadurai (Anna) collectively coined as Annaism by M.G.R. The party has won a seven-time majority in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and has emerged as the most successful political outfit in the state's history. It is currently the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
A member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency,the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha,the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. Natesan Krishnasamy Gounder Rangasamy is an Indian politician who is the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry. He previously served as the chief minister from 2001 to 2006 and from 2006 to 2008 as a member of the Indian National Congress and then from 2011 to 2016 as a member of his own party,the All India N.R. Congress. He holds the record of becoming Chief Minister within three months after creating his own party and also holds the record of becoming chief minister of Puducherry for the fourth time.

The Puducherry Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian union territory (UT) of Puducherry,which comprises four districts:Puducherry,Karaikal,Mahéand Yanam. Out of eight union territories of India,only three have legislatures and they are Delhi,Puducherry and Jammu and Kashmir. After delimitation shortly after its formation,the Puducherry legislative assembly has 33 seats,of which 5 are reserved for candidates from scheduled castes and 3 members are nominated by the Government of India. 30 out of 33 Members are elected directly by the people based on universal adult franchise and the remaining three are nominated by the central government. These nominated members enjoy the same powers as elected members of the assembly.

The All India N.R. Congress is a regional political party formed by the Chief Minister of Puducherry,N. Rangaswamy in the Indian union territory of Puducherry. He announced the party formation on 7 February 2011 in the party's head office in Pondicherry as a breakaway from the Indian National Congress. It fought the 2011 elections by allying with AIADMK and won the majority. Since 2014,it is part of the National Democratic Alliance led by the BJP. NDA alliance won the majority in the 2021 elections and is currently the ruling party of the union territory.

P. R. N. Thirumurugan is an Indian politician from All India NR Congress. In 2011,he was elected as a member of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly from Karaikal North (constituency). He defeated A. V. Subramanian of Indian National Congress by 12,569 votes in 2021 Puducherry Assembly election.
A.K.D. Arumugam is an Indian politician from All India NR Congress. In 2011,he was elected as a member of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly from Indira Nagar (constituency). He defeated M. Kannan of Indian National Congress by 18,531 votes in 2021 Puducherry Assembly election.
R. Baskar Datchanamourtty is an Indian politician from All India NR Congress. He was elected as a member of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly from Ariankuppam (constituency). He defeated T. Jayamoorthy of Indian National Congress by 6,418 votes in 2021 Puducherry Assembly election.
U. Lakshmikandhan is an Indian politician from All India NR Congress. He was elected as a member of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly from Embalam (constituency). He defeated M. Candassamy of Indian National Congress by 2,240 votes in 2021 Puducherry Assembly election.
P. Angalane is an Indian politician and Independent. He was elected as a member of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly from Thirubuvanai (constituency). He defeated B. Kobiga of All India N.R. Congress by 2,359 votes in 2021 Puducherry Assembly election.
The Fifteenth Assembly of Pondicherry succeeded the 14th Assembly of Pondicherry and was constituted after the victory of National Democratic Alliance in the 2021 assembly election that was held on 6 April 2021.
