P. Subbiah Ambalam was an Indian politician and member of parliament who was elected to the 2nd Lok Sabha,representing Ramanathapuram parliamentary constituency from 1957 to 62. He was affiliated with the Indian National Congress.
He was born to Perianan Ambalam on 4 May 1921 in Ramanathapuram district,Tamil Nadu. [2] He received his education from Madras Christian College,Tambaram and Madras Law College,Madras (in modern-day Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College,Chennai).
He was married to Pappathy Ammal,with whom he had five children,including one daughter and four sons. [3]
Shankarrao Bhavrao Chavan was an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra twice from 1975 until 1977 and from 13 March 1986 until 26 June 1988. He was the Finance Minister of India from 1988 to 1989 in Rajiv Gandhi ministry. He also served as the Home Minister of India twice,from 31 December 1984 to 12 March 1986 in the Rajiv Gandhi cabinet,and from 21 June 1991 to 16 May 1996 in the P. V. Narasimha Rao cabinet.
Ramaswamy Venkataraman was an Indian lawyer,Indian independence activist and politician who served as a Union Minister and as the eighth president of India. Venkataraman was born in Rajamadam village in Tanjore district,Madras Presidency. He studied law and practised in the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court of India. In his young age,he was an activist of the Indian independence movement and participated in the Quit India Movement. He was appointed as the member of the Constituent Assembly and the provisional cabinet. He was elected to the Lok Sabha four times and served as Union Finance Minister and Defence Minister. In 1984,he was elected as the seventh vice president of India and in 1987,he became the eighth President of India and served from 1987 to 1992. He also served as a State minister under K. Kamaraj and M. Bhaktavatsalam.
Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy served as the chief minister of the Indian state of United Andhra Pradesh in 1983 and then from 1992 to 1994. Reddy was a member of the Indian National Congress and was elected to the Lok Sabha six times. Reddy also served as a Union cabinet Minister,along with serving on several parliamentary committees. He lost the 1999 elections and subsequently retired from active politics. Botanical Garden in Hyderabad is named after him.
