PKF International (previously known as Pannell Kerr Forster) is a global network of firms. The network's 224 independent member firms operate under the PKF brand in 150 countries across 5 regions. PKF International has 20,000 professionals and is currently ranked 14th international accountancy network by International Accounting Bulletin . [1]

In 2018 PKF was ranked as 11th largest global accounting firm in the United Kingdom. [2]

The International Accounting Bulletin placed PKF at 15th globally based on their world survey, conducted in February 2019. [3]

History

Pannell Kerr Forster [4] [5] was founded in 1969 when four accountancy firms from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States joined to create an international association. The four firms were:

In 1980, member firms decided to use Pannell Kerr Forster as their common brand name to create an international accountancy brand. In 2000, member firms decided to shorten their name to PKF. Member firms are now adopting this name in their home markets, or adding PKF as a prefix to the existing firm name.

As of January 2011, over 21,000 staff were employed by PKF International member firms. [6]

In 2013, PKF's associate firm in UK defected and joined BDO after a fall in revenue and staff reduction. [7]

In 2016, PKF's associate firm in Hong Kong was banned by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board for three years due to not co-operating with a probe. [8] [9]

The accountancy profession in Malaysia is regulated by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) through the powers conferred by the Accountants Act, 1967. The MIA is an agency under the Ministry of Finance and reports directly to the Accountant General Office. As at 4 February 2016, MIA has 32,618 members of which 68% are involved in commerce and industry, 22% in public practice and 10% in government and academia. Moore Kingston Smith founded in 1923 is an accountancy firm located in the United Kingdom. The firm has six offices in London and the south-east and is the London member of the Moore Global Network. In 2022, the Moore UK network ranked 10th on Accountancy Age magazine's "UK Top 50 Accountancy Firms" list.

Morison Global is ranked by the International Accounting Bulletin as the 10th largest accounting association in the world. In January 2021, the combined revenue of all member firms was USD978m.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">BDO Global</span> International network of professional service firms

BDO is an international network of public accounting, tax, consulting and business advisory firms that provide professional services under the name BDO. It is the fifth-largest accounting network in the world. Global fee income of the member firms in the network for the year ended 30 September 2021, including the members of their exclusive alliances, totaled US$12.8 billion. Each BDO member firm is an independent legal entity in its own country. The network, founded in 1963 as Binder Seidman International Group by firms from Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, is coordinated by BDO Global Coordination B.V., with an office in Zaventem, Belgium. In 1973, the organisation adopted the name BDO, made up from the initials of the three founding firms: Binder (UK), Dijker (Netherlands) and Otte (Germany).
