Pakistan Sangeet Icon is a reality-based first singing competition shown on MTV Pakistan and Indus TV. It is based on the popular British show Pop Idol and its American counterpart American Idol. The show aims to find the most talented young singer in Pakistan. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
The show begins with a cross-country tour in which aspiring singers audition in front of three judges, namely Ali Haider, Mekaal Hasan and Pappu (all recording artists) under the supervision of Creative Director Mujtaba Lakhiya Syed Safdar Ali and team Yasir Siddiqui, . Eventually the number of performers is narrowed down with each competitor performing live. Viewers have two hours following the broadcast of the show to phone or text in their votes for their favorite competitor. On the following week, the competitor with the fewest votes is eliminated. Syed Ali Asad Zaidi was the Runner-up of the show.
The two remaining finalists battle it out during the finale and viewers have more time allotted to vote. The next day, the competitor with the most votes is declared the winner and is awarded One Crore Rupees. [7] [8]
The winner of the first competition was Asad Abbas. Then he sang for a live singing show called "Yeh Shaam Mastani" Executive Producer of Ali Fareed & Producer/Director "Mujtaba Lakhiya & Safdar Ali" where he got a lot of appreciation from audiences around the world. Asad later joined Mekaal Hasan Band in mid-2010. Shahid Mehmood has the biggest collection of Asad Abbas performances on its YouTube channel. You can also watch Pakistan Sangeet Icon Season One on the same YouTube channel, launched Pakistan Sangeet Icon Season II under the supervision of Ali Fareed.
After the success of Pakistan Sangeet Icon Season I, Indus TV Network took another step to success and launched Pakistan Sangeet Icon Season II under Executive Producer Ali Fareed and Producer/Director "Mujtaba Lakhiya & Safdar Ali." The judges Panel consisted of three super stars and brilliant musicians of Pakistan, Faakhir Mehmood, Shehzad Roy and Emu (from Fuzön). The show started with auditions all over Pakistan and after tough selections, the judges selected 12 contestants. The winner of the second season of Pakistan Sangeet icon was Ather Sani from Karachi.
The Music of Pakistan includes diverse elements ranging from music from various parts of South Asia as well as Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and modern-day Western popular music influences. With these multiple influences, a distinctive Pakistani music has emerged.
Faakhir Mehmood is a Pakistani actor, singer, keyboradist, composer and music producer. He started out his career with the Pakistani musical group Awaz. However, due to conflicts of interest, the band split in 2000 and they all went to become solo artists. The band Awaz also consisted of well known musician Haroon.
Asad Ahmed is a Pakistani guitarist. His first stint was forming The Barbarians. He has been a member of the famous pop trio Awaz, has played with Junoon, Vital Signs and was a founding member of the rock band Karavan. Asad is considered as the founder of Rock Music in Pakistan. He is currently a Solo Artist.
Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College is a public sector Medical College in Sialkot, Pakistan. It was established on the initiative of CM Shehbaz Sharif to give quality education in the region of Punjab and especially in Sialkot. It was named after Khawaja Muhammad Safdar in 2017, who took an active part in the Pakistan Movement before 1947 and was the father of current political leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The Mekaal Hasan Band is known for being innovators of a progressive style of music which finds it's melodic roots in South Asian traditional musical and literary art forms, some of which include Qawali, Sufiana Kalam and in general, traditional material culled from Indian and Pakistani culture and folkloric traditions.
Coke Studio is a Pakistani television programme and international music franchise which features studio-recorded music performances by established and emerging artists. It is the longest-running annual television music show in Pakistan, running annually since 2008.

Jeeto Pakistan is a Pakistani game show, hosted by actor Fahad Mustafa on ARY Digital. The show was launched on May 18,2014. It has been called the "biggest game show" in Pakistan. Jeeto Pakistan's participants are selected randomly from a studio audience who require passes to attend the show.
The tenth season of the Pakistani music television series Coke Studio premiered on 11 August 2017, and ended on 21 September 2017. Strings and The Coca-Cola Company emceed the show as executive producers, while the show returned with the previous year's format of music directors leading and producing their own songs under Strings' supervision, despite the decision of not adopting this format for next year.
Pepsi Battle of the Bands is a Pakistani television series, originally based on the concept of Battle of the Bands, first aired in 2002 on PTV Home. The show was revived in 2017.
Amanat is a 2021 Pakistani television series produced by Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz under banner of Next Level Entertainment in collaboration with Six Sigma Plus. It features Imran Abbas, Urwa Hocane, Saboor Aly in lead roles and Haroon Shahid, Srha Asghar and Gohar Rasheed in supporting roles. It airs weekly on ARY Digital starting from its premier on 21 September 2021.
