Teagasc is the semi-state authority in the Republic of Ireland responsible for research and development, training and advisory services in the agri-food sector.
An Institute of Technology (IT) is a type of higher education college found in Ireland. In 2018, there were a total of fourteen colleges that use the title of Institute of Technology, which were created from the late 1960s and were formerly known as Regional Technical Colleges. The exception to this was Dublin Institute of Technology which emerged independently of the Regional College system. The Technological Universities Act of 2018 allowed the merger of two or more IoTs into Technological Universities, which saw the creation of the Technological University Dublin in 2019; Munster Technological University and Technological University Shannon: Midlands Midwest in 2021; and Atlantic Technological University and South East Technological University in 2022.
The Limerick Institute of Technology was an institute of technology, located in Limerick, Ireland. The institute had five campuses that were located in Limerick, Thurles, Clonmel, as well as a regional learning centre in Ennis. The main campus was located at Moylish Park in Limerick adjacent to Thomond Park and housed the Faculty of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology and the School of Business and Humanities. The School of Art & Design is located at the Clare Street and Clonmel campuses.
The Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC), the legal successor to the National Council for Educational Awards (NCEA), granted higher education awards in Ireland beyond the university system from 2001 to 2012. HETAC was created in 2001, subject to the policies of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland, and, specifically, granted qualifications at many Institutes of Technology and other colleges. HETAC was dissolved and its functions were passed to Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) on 6 November 2012.
The Further Education and Training Awards Council or FETAC was a statutory qualification-awarding body for further education in Ireland. It was established on 11 June 2001 under the Qualifications Act 1999. FETAC was dissolved and its functions were passed to Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) on 6 November 2012.
The Athlone Institute of Technology was an institute of technology, located in Athlone, Ireland. Established in 1970, the institute's campus was located on University Road.
The Institute of Technology Tallaght was a third-level institution in Tallaght, the largest suburb of Dublin, Ireland. Established in 1992, IT Tallaght offered degree and postgraduate courses as well as adult education courses. On 1 January 2019 it was dissolved and its operations merged into the new Technological University Dublin (TUD). Its campus is now the Tallaght Campus of TUD.
Third-level education in the Republic of Ireland includes all education after second-level, encompassing higher education in universities and colleges and further education on Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) and other courses. The degree-awarding institutions which can grant awards at all academic levels are the University of Dublin, National University of Ireland, University of Limerick, Dublin City University, Technological University Dublin, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Munster Technological University, Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest, Atlantic Technological University and South East Technological University, as well as St Patrick's College, Maynooth. Quality and Qualifications Ireland, a State agency, can grant awards in other institutions directly, or delegate the authority to do so. The King's Inns of Dublin has a limited role in education specialising in the preparation of candidates for the degree of barrister-at-law to practice as barristers. Medical schools in Ireland also have particular regulation. There were seven establishments of higher education within Ireland ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide by the Times Higher Education Supplement in 2023.

Pharmaceutical Management is an MSc in International Pharmaceutical Business Management. It will be offered on a full and part-time basis.
Griffith College Limerick (GCL) is a private third level college in Limerick, Ireland. The college was established in 2006 when the Mid West Business Institute was acquired by Griffith College Dublin. The college runs full-time and part-time courses in accountancy, business, law, engineering, computing, and information technology, and has a range of part-time courses available.
The Technological University of the Shannon: Thurles Campus is a constituent institute of the Technological University of the Shannon, located in Thurles and Clonmel, Ireland.
Salesian Secondary College, formerly Copsewood College, is a secondary school located outside the village of Pallaskenry, County Limerick, Ireland. The school campus is owned by the Salesians and shared with Pallaskenry Agricultural College. As of 2024, there were over 700 students enrolled in the school's co-educational program.
IBAT College Dublin is a private for-profit higher education institution located in Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 2004 as the Institute of Business and Technology. From 2009 to 2011 it was known as IBAT College Swords. As of 2019, the college offers a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in business and an MBA validated by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. It also offers English-language courses and its own short courses in various subjects related to business and technology.
Gurteen College is an agricultural college in County Tipperary, Ireland. Founded as Gurteen Agricultural College by the Methodist Church in Ireland in 1947 it was officially opened by the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Patrick Smith, on October 11, 1947. The college provides training courses in agriculture and equine studies for farms and rural enterprises. It is a charity registered in Ireland. The farm covers 380 hectares of land.
Mountbellew Agricultural College or Franciscan Brothers College is a training college for the farming and agricultural industry in Mountbellew, County Galway, Ireland. It was founded in 1904 by the Franciscan Brothers, who previously had a secondary school on the location, and was the first such college in Ireland. It is a private college but runs courses in association with the Irish governments Agricultural and Food Development Authority (Teagasc) and the nearby Atlantic Technological University Mountbellew campus (GMIT).
Ballyhaise College is an agricultural college, based in the former Ballyhaise House, in Ballyhaise, County Cavan in Ireland. It is run by Teagasc and, as of 2023, had over 400 students. The college was founded in 1906 at the former Ballyhaise House, an 18th century house with an estate consisting of 220 hectares of grassland and woodland.
Warrenstown College was an agricultural and horticultural college run by the Salesian congregation, in Drumree, County Meath.
The Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest is a public university in Ireland. It is a technological university, the third such one to be established in Ireland, and opened in October 2021.
