History
Founded in 1946 for initiative of the Railroaders's Recreative Club as Ferrovieri Parma, the team took part for the first time at Serie A in 1949 and won its first national title in 1950. In 1954 Ferrovieri merged into CUS Parma.
In the 1960s the Gruppo Sportivo Salvarani supported briefly the club, which won another championship in 1969.
In 1980 Parmalat Industries started to economically supported the club, declined in the 1970s. Sponsored by Santal, it won two national titles, three Coppa Italia and two CEV Champions League. In 1987 Parmalat was replaced by another sponsor, Maxicono Motta, and the club could extend its winning tradition in Italy and in Europe.
In 1996, for economical reasons, Pallavolo Parma did not enrol at Serie A1 and restarted from the lower division. It has been renamed Sky Volley in 1996 and disappeared in 2004. Audax Parma is today in Serie B2 division.

Modena Volley is a professional volleyball team based in Modena, Italy. It has played in the highest level of the Italian Volleyball League without interruption since 1968. It is the most successful Italian club, having won the national league twelve times and the national cup as well. The club is one of the most prominent and prestigious in Europe too, having won thirteen European trophies including four CEV Champions League.

Francesca Piccinini is an Italian volleyball player who has represented Italy four times at the Summer Olympics. She was a member of the Women's National Team that won the gold medal at the 2002 World Championship in Germany. She made her debut for Italy on 10 June 1995 against the United States. She was inspired to become a professional volleyball player by the Japanese anime Attack No. 1, shown in Italy in the 1980s under the title Mimì e la nazionale della pallavolo.
Trentino Volley is a professional Italian volleyball team based in Trento. It has played in the Italian Volleyball League since 2000. The team has five wins in the Italian Volleyball League, three in the Italian Cup, three in the Italian Super Cup, three consecutive wins in the CEV Champions League and a record of five in the FIVB Men's Club World Volleyball Championship. In the 2010–11 season, the team made history by being the first to win the national, continental and world championship.
Gruppo Sportivo Oratorio Pallavolo Femminile Villa Cortese was an Italian women's volleyball club based in Villa Cortese in the Province of Milan. The team played in Serie A1, the highest women's league in Italy, from 2009 until 2013.
CUS Torino Pallavolo was a professional men's volleyball team based in Turin, Italy. It is one of the most famous clubs which played in Serie A1 in the 1970s and in the 1980s, winning several Italian and European trophies.
Osmany Juantorena Portuondo is a Cuban-born Italian professional volleyball player, a member of Cuba national volleyball team in 2003–2006 and current member of Italian club Modena Volley. Juantorena was bronze medalist of the 2005 World League and silver medalist 2016 Summer Olympics. He is a multiple winner of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship with the Italian club Trentino Volley. Juantorena is the record owner of the highest number of Most Valuable Player awards at FIVB Club World Championship, with 4 times.

Pallavolo Femminile Matera, commonly referred to as PVF Matera, was a women's volleyball team based in Matera, Italy. The club was a dominant force in Italian and Global volleyball during the 1990s, winning several national and international titles. Matera won the Italian Women's Volleyball Championship four times (1992-1995) and the Italian Women's Volleyball Cup three times (1993-1995). Internationally, secured two CEV Women's Champions League titles, two CEV Women's Challenge Cups, and one Women's Volleyball European Super Cup (1993). Matera also finished as Vice World Champion, reaching the World Championship final.
