The Palm Beach Typhoon are a Tier III junior ice hockey team playing in the United States Premier Hockey League's (USPHL) Premier Division. The Madhatters play their home games at the Palm Beach Skate Zone in Lake Worth, Florida. [1]
In March of 2021, the USPHL approved the Palm Beach Typhoon as expansion teams for both the Premier and Elite Divisions. [2] The team reached an affiliation arrangement with the NCDC's Northern Cyclones, who also operate teams in the Premier and Elite Divisions. [3] As a result, the Typhoon share both their colors and logo with the Cyclones.
In January of 2025, the Typhoon's Premier team was forced to cancel all of their remaining games after the 6th. [4] While the neither the team nor the USPHL made any comment as to the reason, the Typhoon's Elite team remained active in their league. Whatever the trouble, the Typhoon were on the schedule for a full season for the 2025–26 campaign.
The franchise re-branded to the Tyhoon Hockey Club for their return to action.
