"Paluke Bangaramayena" [1] one of the famous Telugu compositions by the 17th century composer and devotee of Lord Sri Rama, Bhadrachala Ramadasu. [2] He is known to have composed hundreds such songs however the original music is lost.

Indian Carnatic vocalist Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna set music to these songs in the 1950s and popularized them. These have become one of the most famous renditions. Subsequently, many versions of this song have been sung.

Translation Your words have become as rare as gold, O one who wields the divine Kodanda bow in your hand, your words have become as rare as gold,

Paluke bangaramaye, pilachina palukavemi,

Translation

Your words have become as rare as gold, and you refuse to say anything even if I call unto you,

Even in my dreams I cannot forget the chanting of your name, O beautiful father of mine

Iravuga isukalona poralina udutha bhaktiki

Karuninchi brochithivani nera nammithini thandri |Paluke bangaramayena...|

Translation

For the devotion shown by a squirrel rolling in the sand (to help you build the bit Rama Setu)

You mercifully showered grace on it, I believed this about you O father staunchly

ప్రఖ్యాతి జెందితివని ప్రీతితో నమ్మితి తండ్రి

Raathi nathiga jesi bhoothalamuna

Prakhyathi chendithivani, preethi tho nammithi thandri |Paluke bangaramayena...|

Translation

By changing a stone into a woman (Ahalya), in this world

you became famous, I believed this about you O father with great love

No matter how much I plead with you, why do I not see even a small amount of compassion from you

"Refuge of the needy", isn't that the title you have been conferred with

Kancharla Gopanna, popularly known as Bhakta Ramadasu or Bhadrachala Ramadasu, was a 17th-century devotee of the Hindu god Rama, a saint-poet and a composer of Carnatic music. He is a famous Vaggeyakara from the Telugu classical era. He was born in the village of Nelakondapalli in Khammam district, and orphaned as a teenager. He spent his later years in Bhadrachalam and 12 years in solitary confinement at the Golconda prison during the Qutb Shahi rule. Different mythical stories about his life circulate in the Telugu tradition. He is renowned for constructing the famous Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple and pilgrimage center on the banks of river Godavari at Bhadrachalam. His devotional kirtana lyrics to Rama illustrate the classical Pallavi, Anupallavi and Charanam genre composed mostly in Telugu, some in Sanskrit and with occasional use of Tamil language. These are famous in South Indian classical music as Ramadaasu Keertanalu.

Oothukkaadu Venkata Kavi or Oottukkaadu Venkata Subramanyar was one of the pioneering composers in Indian classical Carnatic music. He lived in South India in the present-day state of Tamil Nadu. Also known by the name Oothukkaadu Venkatasubramaniya Iyer, he composed hundreds of compositions in Sanskrit and Tamil of which over 500 are available. These were handed down from generation to generation by the descendants of the composer's brother's family.

Mysore Vasudevacharya was an Indian musician and composer of Carnatic music compositions who belonged to the direct line of Thyagaraja's disciples. Kharaharapriya is a rāga in Carnatic music. It is the 22nd melakarta rāga in the 72 melakarta rāga system. O Kadhal Kanmani is the soundtrack album, composed by A. R. Rahman, to the 2015 Indian Tamil film of the same name written and directed by Mani Ratnam. The soundtrack album consists of nine tracks each in original Tamil and Telugu version of the albums with one track "Maula Wa Sallim" being common to both. Majority of the tracks for the original version were penned by Vairamuthu. The lyrics to the Telugu version were written by Sirivennela Sitaramasastri.The lyrics to its Hindi version songs in its Hindi remake OK Jaanu is by Gulzar The songs are fusion of contemporary music with carnatic music as well as pure classical Indian music based songs in the genres—carnatic and Hindustani.
