PanIQ Escape Room also known as PanIQ Room is an escape room franchise created by PanIQ Entertainment. Conceived in Hungary and developed in the United States in 2014, PanIQ Room became the first international escape room chain with franchise disclosure documentation.[ citation needed ] As of November 2019, it had eighteen locations in the United States, Europe and Pakistan.
After a couple of isolated precedents across the world, a significant number of escape rooms first appeared in Budapest in early 2011. They soon became the top-ranked tourist attraction of the city. [1] One of them was Pániq Szoba, opened in March 2012 by Balázs Koltai and managed by him and Balázs Ureczky. [2]
In order to turn the concept of Pániq Szoba into an international undertaking, several Hungarian entrepreneurs, including Ákos Gábossy, Patrik Horváth, Gábor Péteri and Patrik Strausz, partnered with the owners of Pániq Szoba to found PanIQ Escape Room in 2014. The company entered the U.S. market as PanIQ Entertainment with two themes in Hollywood. When the rooms turned out to be a success, they opened their second U.S. location in San Francisco with three rooms: The Prison, Psycho and Geek. [3] [4] In 2017, PanIQ Escape Room officially became the first international escape room franchise in the world. The company is still responsible for the project design of all the rooms. [5] [6]
In February 2016, a family-oriented MagIQ Room was opened in Beverly Hills, with three themes: Secrets of Wizardry, Pirate’s Den and Curse of the Mummy. [7]
As of April 2022, PanIQ Escape Room has 17 escape room locations worldwide. In the U.S.: Atlanta (GA), Austin (TX), Boston (MA), 2 locations in Chicago (IL) - Logan Square and Fulton Market, Dallas (TX), Houston (TX), Las Vegas (NV),Miami (FL) in Wynwood and Miami Beach; NYC (NY); San Francisco (CA); and San Jose (CA). [8] [9] [10] PanIQ Room’s flagship location on the Las Vegas Strip was opened in August, 2020. [11] In Europe: Budapest (Hungary) as Neverland Bar & Escape Room; PanIQ Room Marseille (France); PanIQ Room Stockholm (Sweden). In Asia: PanIQ Room Islamabad (Pakistan) and PanIQ Room Lahore (Pakistan). [12]
As of April 2022, the following PanIQ Escape Room venues are under construction: Atlantic City (NJ); Indianapolis (IN); Los Angeles (CA); Miami Beach (FL); Sacramento (CA); San Diego (CA); Seattle (WA). The original Pániq Szoba is still in operation, but they are no longer part of the franchise, along with an affiliate location in Sydney, Australia. [13]
Recent expansion and development has been the result of a Series A venture capital investment from Hiventures in the amount of US$875,000 in August 2018. [14] [15]
PanIQ Escape Room is a member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), International Franchise Professionals Group (IFPG), and International Franchise Association (IFA). [16]
PanIQ Room acquired 40% of Indestroom in 2022, which is the biggest escape room prop and puzzle manufacturer in the world. [17]
The general objective of participants in each room is the same: to find a way to get out before the time runs out.
In the Geek Room in Silicon Valley, startup employees are physically trapped in a room, with one hour to solve the puzzles. In 2016, the Geek Room was updated to add more drama, with players having to avoid explosives laid by their coked up boss. [4] [18] The San Francisco location also includes "Wizards" and "Medieval" rooms.. [19] [20] Other popular themes are The Wild West in Phoenix, The Mob in Chicago and The Perfect Crime in Washington D.C. [21]
PanIQ's recently built rooms include: The Haunted Manor, The Time Machine, Zombie Outbreak, Atlantis Rising, Casino Heist, Cartel Crackdown, Wizard Trials. One of the first escape rooms in the US, their Insane Asylum room was first built in 2014, and its newer iterations opened in 2022. [22] [23]
In the US, PanIQ started with building first generation escape rooms in 2014, and in 2022, most of their rooms are GEN3. [24] Also, the company has been working on a fourth generation room since 2020. [25]
Hard Rock Cafe, Inc. is a chain of theme bar-restaurants, memorabilia shops, casinos and museums founded in 1971 by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton in London. In 1979, the cafe began covering its walls with rock and roll memorabilia, a tradition which expanded to others in the chain. In 2007, Hard Rock Cafe International (USA), Inc. was sold to the Seminole Tribe of Florida and was headquartered in Orlando, Florida, until April 2018, when the corporate offices were relocated to Davie, Florida. As of July 2018, Hard Rock International has venues in 74 countries, including 172 bar or cafe-restaurants, 37 hotels, and four casinos.
Bellagio is a resort, luxury hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Blackstone Inc. and operated by MGM Resorts International. Bellagio was conceived by casino owner Steve Wynn, and was built on the former site of the Dunes hotel-casino. Wynn's company, Mirage Resorts, purchased the Dunes in 1992. Plans were announced in 1994 to replace it with Beau Rivage, a French-themed resort. However, Wynn changed the project plans in 1995, instead theming it after the village of Bellagio, near Lake Como. The resort was designed by Jon Jerde. Construction began on November 1, 1995, with Marnell Corrao Associates as general contractor.

It is also the third-largest hotel complex in the world by number of rooms and second-largest hotel resort complex in the United States behind the combined The Venetian and The Palazzo. When it opened in 1993, the MGM Grand was the largest hotel complex in the world.
The Tropicana Las Vegas is a casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Bally's Corporation, on land leased from Gaming and Leisure Properties. It offers 1,467 rooms, a 50,000-square-foot (4,600 m2) gaming floor, and 72,000 sq ft (6,700 m2) of convention and exhibit space.
The Boardwalk Hotel and Casino was a Coney Island-style hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. The property began in 1966, as a Holiday Inn. Norbert Jansen added a gift shop to the hotel in 1972, and later opened the Slot Joynt casino. In 1985, Jansen renamed the Holiday Inn as the Viscount Hotel, part of a U.S. chain. Four years later, he merged Slot Joynt with the Viscount and renamed them as the Boardwalk. It rejoined the Holiday Inn chain in 1994, through a franchise deal which eventually ended in 2002.
Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International. It was developed by Circus Circus Enterprises and completed at a cost of $950 million. It opened on March 2, 1999, on the former site of the Hacienda hotel-casino. MGM acquired Mandalay Bay in 2005, and The Blackstone Group became a co-owner in 2020. Vici acquired MGM's ownership stake in 2022.
Harrah's Las Vegas is a hotel and casino centrally located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. The property originally opened as a joint venture with Holiday Inn. Construction began in April 1970, and the hotel portion opened on February 1, 1972, as the Holiday Inn Center Strip. The casino portion, known as the Holiday Casino, opened on July 2, 1973. Shelby Williams was among the casino's investors. After his death in 1977, his wife Claudine Williams took over operations. Holiday Inn purchased an interest in the casino operation in 1979, and bought out Williams entirely in 1983, although she would remain as chairwoman.
JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa is a resort in Summerlin, Nevada, near Las Vegas. The Rampart Casino is located within the hotel. The property is owned and operated by Hotspur Resorts, which franchises the JW Marriott name from Marriott International. El Cortez, a hotel and casino, is a relatively small downtown Las Vegas gaming venue a block from the Fremont Street Experience and Las Vegas Boulevard. Slots, table games, and a race and sports book occupy one floor of the main pavilion, at this historic casino. It opened on Fremont Street on November 7, 1941, and is one of the oldest casino-hotel properties in Las Vegas, along with the nearby Golden Gate Hotel and Casino. Primarily Spanish Colonial Revival in style, it reflects a 1952 remodel when the façade was modernized. On February 22, 2013, the structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

An escape room, also known as an escape game, puzzle room, exit game, or riddle room is a game in which a team of players discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time. The goal is often to escape from the site of the game. Most escape games are cooperative but competitive variants exist. Escape rooms became popular in North America, Europe, and East Asia in the 2010s. Permanent escape rooms in fixed locations were first opened in Asia and followed later in Hungary, Serbia, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and South America.
T-Mobile Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Paradise, Nevada, United States. Opened on April 6, 2016, it is the home arena of the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Charlie Palmer Hotel is a proposed 371-room hotel planned for 3 acres (1.2 ha) of land at Symphony Park in downtown Las Vegas. As of September 2014, the project is on hold. The project was announced by chef Charlie Palmer as a boutique condo hotel in 2006, with groundbreaking scheduled for later that year. In 2007, the proposed location for the project was changed to Symphony Park, and the condominium was removed from the project. The opening had initially been scheduled for November 2011, but the start of construction was delayed several times between 2010 and 2014, due to the poor state of the local hotel market.
Justin Ress is an American swimmer. As a member of the USA national team Justin won the gold medal in the 50 meter backstroke at the 2022 FINA World Championships and was a member of the USA gold medal winning 4X100 free relay. He was also a key part of the USA team that defeated Australia in the resumption of the Duel in the Pool series in 2022. Ress competed as a member of the Cali Condors of the International Swimming League from 2019-2021 and looks forward to resumption of ISL in the near future. Ress was US national champion in the 100 backstroke in 2022 and 50 backstroke in 2017 after which he competed in the men's 50 meter backstroke event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Ress swam collegiately for North Carolina State University where he was a 3-time NCAA champion, 21-time NCAA All-American, and 11-time ACC champion. In his first year at school he won the 2016 ACC Freshman of the Year award.
On October 1, 2017, a mass shooting occurred when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada from his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel. He fired more than 1,000 rounds, killing 60 people and wounding at least 413. The ensuing panic brought the total number of injured to approximately 867. About an hour later, he was found dead in his room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The motive for the shooting is officially undetermined.
The Las Vegas Aces are an American professional basketball team based in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The Aces compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The team plays their home games at Michelob Ultra Arena in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, and is headquartered in Henderson, Nevada. The Aces won the 2022 WNBA Commissioner's Cup and WNBA Championship. The Aces also won the 2023 WNBA Championship, becoming the first team to win back-to-back championships since 2001-2002, when the Los Angeles Sparks completed that feat.
