The Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) is the regional body that is aimed to represent African professional accountants with one and louder voice, particularly in relating with International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). It was inaugurated in Dakar, Senegal on 5 May 2011. [1]

Inauguration

The first president, elected at the inaugural meeting in Dakar, Senegal, was Major General Sebastian Achulike Owuama. Owuama is also president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and of the Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa. [2] Dr. Mussa J. Assad of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors in Tanzania was named vice president. [3] The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants in Johannesburg hosts the PAFA Secretariat. [3]

These parties tend to, but not always, be left-leaning and often do not have widespread support in their respective countries.

The Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa (ABWA) is a regional organization of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). As of 2011 there were ten West African accounting institutes represented in ABWA.

Prince Rasaq Adekunle Quadri is a Nigerian accountant who was President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) from 2009 to 2011, and was elected the first President of the West African Union of Tax Institutes (WAUTI) in March 2011.

It has legal personality and financial autonomy. It is non-political, non-profit, non-denominational and cannot accept any racial or other discrimination and performs its activities on an amateur basis in compliance with the principles set forth in the Olympic Charter, duly recognised by the World Karate Federation (WKF), Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC), Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).

The African Judo Union (AJU) is the governing body of judo in Africa. It is one of the five continental confederations making up the International Judo Federation (IJF). AJU was formed on 28 November 1961 in Dakar (Senegal). AJU has headquarters in Madagascar and consists of 54 member federations.
