Panda is a Dutch electronic music artist living in Amsterdam, specializing in drum and bass. [1] He gained an interest in electronic music in his teenage years. He was inspired to write electronic music after seeing a live performance by an electronic music act in his birthplace Nijmegen. Panda's tracks have been aired on all premier drum & bass radio stations including BBC Radio 1 and many major drum and bass performers have played Panda's music in clubs.
Panda previously released on the experimental jungle label Exegene Records and Foundname Records under the stage name of Peet.
Panda released his debut album Retake Manhattan in 2008. It is a concept album themed around the 400-year anniversary of the discovery of New York by the Dutch. It features 14 tracks which represent a fictitious journey around the world. It has been supported and played by many artists in the drum and bass scene both in clubs, on radio and podcasts including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Kool FM, the Drum and Bass Arena podcast by artists including Fresh, Mary Anne Hobbs and Paul B. [2] The single Baghdad was a featured Drum & Bass Download on BBC Radio 1Xtra. [3] The album itself was a featured release on the Dutch 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal. [4]
Panda has been nominated Best Drum and Bass Producer at the Drum and Bass Awards in the Netherlands. [5] He has played as a DJ at such venues like the Paard van Troje, Bibelot, Winston Kingdom, Bazart, Escape, Metropool in the Netherlands and the Pool Bar club in London. Panda has organized two contrasting club nights; ONE in Nijmegen targeted popular drum & bass and Reaktor in The Hague targeted heavier drum and bass music.
Panda has won several competitions with his music. One of the most notable was a production competition between two major drum & bass websites, Dogs on Acid and Drum & Bass Arena. The competition was judged by drum & bass musician John B, who picked Panda's music as favorite. Other notable competitions include the production competition for the premier Dutch drum & bass website DNBforum.nl [6] where he entered first place. On the radio, the drum and bass magazine Knowledge chose one of his tracks as best unsigned track.
In addition to music production, in 2009, Panda launched an electronic music network on YouTube called the Panda Mix Show. [7] The channel features guest mixes by artists like Sub Focus and DJ Fresh and has a subscriber base of 300,000 with over 100 million YouTube views as of 2014.[ citation needed ] It also features in the iTunes Podcast Top 100. Drum and bass is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by fast breakbeats with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's jungle scene in the early 1990s.

Chase & Status are an English electronic music duo composed of Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status). In addition, Andy Gangadeen is the drummer when the band performs live. MC Rage formerly performed as MC with the group, but left in July 2021 to focus on solo ventures. The duo are from London, and formed in 2003 after meeting at university in Manchester. The duo have since released five studio albums and collaborated with major artists such as Plan B, CeeLo Green, Rihanna, Example, and Tinie Tempah. They run the independent record label MTA Records.

It was launched in February 2005 by the original webmaster Thijs Engels, and web designer Tom "Haste" Johnson. According to the website, the database holds over 100,000 tracks released by more than 20,000 artists.

DC Breaks are a British drum and bass production duo made up of Dan Havers and Chris Page. After being discovered and nurtured by Scotland's DJ Kid, they went on to sign a record deal with RAM Records, run by the renowned producer Andy C. They have produced numerous remixes for major record labels, including artists such as Tinie Tempah, I Blame Coco, Paloma Faith, Example, Esmée Denters and Rox. In April 2017, their debut album Different Breed was released on RAM Records.

The track was released in the United Kingdom on 9 September 2012 as the third official single from the ill Manors soundtrack, a film which Plan B also directed. Loadstar was a music production duo from Bristol, United Kingdom. They produced predominantly drum and bass however they worked in other genres such as dubstep and electro. The duo consisted of Gavin "Xample" Harris and Nick "Lomax" Hill. They previously produced under the alias Xample & Lomax.
Future Perfect is the debut studio album by British production duo Loadstar. The album was released on 26 May 2013 through RAM Records. Loadstar appeared on DJ Target and MistaJam's BBC Radio 1Xtra shows to promote the album. They also hosted an Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. The album charted at number 168 on the UK Albums Chart and also on the dance and indie charts.
Brand New Machine is the third studio album by English drum and bass production duo Chase & Status. It was released on 7 October 2013 by MTA Records under exclusive license to Mercury Records. The album features vocal contributions from a new wave of British talent, including Louis M^ttrs, Moko, Jacob Banks and Elli Ingram, as well as contributions from Major Lazer, Nile Rodgers and rapper Pusha T. The duo toured the album with an arena tour beginning on 31 October 2013. They also headlined 1Xtra Live at the Bournemouth International Centre on the same day as the release of the album.

It was released on February 27, 2015, by Owsla and Mad Decent, Skrillex and Diplo's respective labels.
