Pang Sheng Jun (born 4 September 1992) is a Singaporean national swimmer.
Pang started swimming from the age of four upon doctor's recommendation due to his asthma. He began competitive swimming at six years old.
In 2014, he received an Outstanding Sports Achievement Award for swimming from the Singapore Sports School. [2] He studied Sports Science and Management at the Nanyang Technological University. [3]
At the 2009 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Laos, Pang finished fourth in the men's 200m and 400m individual medleys.
Pang participated at the 400m freestyle event, his only event, at the 2011 SEA Games. He finished fifth at the finals. Disappointed at his poor showing, Pang attempted suicide by attempting leaping off the highest floor of his apartment building at the Games Village but was held back by his teammate and friend, Russell Ong. Pang won his first medal at the FINA Swimming World Cup with a bronze medal in the 1,500m freestyle event. [3] [4]
At the 2012 Southeast Asian Swimming Championships, he won the gold medal at the men's 4 × 200 m freestyle. [3]
At the 2013 SEA Games, he won the gold medal at the men's 4 × 200 m freestyle. [3]
At the 2014 Southeast Asian Swimming Championships, he won the gold medal at the men's 4 × 200 m freestyle again, and bronze medals in the 200m and 400m freestyle events and the 400m individual medley event . [3]
At the 2015 SEA Games, he won the gold medal at the men's 4 × 200 m freestyle again and broke the national record. [3] He also won the silver medal in the 400m individual medley event and the bronze medal in 400m freestyle event, his first individual medals in the SEA Games. [5] [3]
Pang failed to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics after achieving Olympic 'B' times in the 400m individual medley and freestyle. [3]
Pang is the youngest son of Agnes Ng and Pang Boon Teng. He has two sisters who swam competitively until they were 16 years old when they decided to focus on their studies instead. [6] [3] On 19 December 2020, Pang announced that he had been in a relationship with badminton player Yeo Jia Min.
The 1972 Summer Olympics were held in Munich, West Germany, 29 events in swimming were contested. There was a total of 532 participants from 52 countries competing.

Michael Fred Phelps II is an American former competitive swimmer. He is the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals. Phelps also holds the all-time records for Olympic gold medals (23), Olympic gold medals in individual events (13), and Olympic medals in individual events (16). At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Phelps tied the record of eight medals of any color at a single Games, held by gymnast Alexander Dityatin, by winning six gold and two bronze medals. Wang Shun is a Chinese competitive swimmer. A versatile medley swimmer, he became the first Asian male swimmer to win a gold medal at the men's 200m individual medley at the Olympic Games when he came in first at the 2020 Summer Olympics men's 200 metre individual medley. He is also the first swimmer from China to win a gold medal in an Olympic men's medley swimming event. He had earlier won a bronze medal in the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Ratapong "Nuk" Sirisanont is a Thai former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke, but also competed in long-distance freestyle and individual medley. He is a four-time Olympian, a three-time Asian Games participant, and a seven-time SEA Games athlete (1991–2003). Regarded as Thailand's top swimmer, he has won a total of sixteen medals at the Southeast Asian Games since 1995, and six at the Asian Games, including two golds in the 200 and 400 m individual medley. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Sirisanont became the first Thai swimmer to reach the final twice. Sirisanont is also one of three Southeast Asian swimmers, along with Malaysia's Alex Lim and Philippines' Miguel Molina, to train for the California Golden Bears in the United States, under head coach Nort Thornton.

Duncan William MacNaughton Scott is a Scottish swimmer representing Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships and the Olympic Games, and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. Scott made history after winning four medals - more than any other British athlete at a single Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 - and becoming Great Britain's most decorated swimmer in Olympic history. An all-rounder in the pool, Scott has swum internationally in 100 and 200 metres freestyle and butterfly, and 200 metres individual medley. He has won a gold at the Olympics and two golds at the World Championships in 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay, a gold in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay, as well as silvers at the World Championships and Olympics in freestyle and medley relay. Timothy Malcolm (Disko) Disken, is an Australian paralympic swimmer. He represented Australia at the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships and won bronze in the men's 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. At the 2016 Rio Paralympics, he won a gold medal in the men's 100m freestyle S9, a silver medal in the men's S9 50m freestyle and a bronze medal in the men's 200m individual medley SM9. He also competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Travis Mahoney is an Australian medley and backstroke swimmer. Winner of two relay medals at the 2012 World Short Course Championships, he is also part of the quartet that broke the world record in the short course mixed 4 × 50 metres freestyle relay. In 2016, he qualified for his first Olympic Games.
Thomas William Darnton Dean is a British competitive freestyle swimmer. He is a double Olympic gold medalist, winning gold individually in 200 metre freestyle and as part of a team in 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
