Papare is a form of music which originated in Sri Lanka. Adopted from kawadi Tamil Hindu genres band music they normally play in thiruvizha times . Papare is a very lively genre of music, and is a popular music culture throughout the South Asian region. There are a lot of papare bands in Sri Lanka that play mostly at cricket matches to boost the morale of supporters. [1]

The Test matches formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. Ahead of the Test matches, the West Indies were scheduled to play a four-day warm-up game in Colombo. However, the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
The Afghanistan cricket team toured Sri Lanka in November 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. These matches formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. All three matches were played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Sri Lanka recovered from losing the first match, and the second encounter ending with no result due to rain, to level the series in the third game.
