Alexander Botwin, better known by his stage name Paper Diamond (formerly Alex B), is an American electronic music producer from Colorado. He signed with Pretty Lights Music in December 2010, [1] and released his first album Levitate on January 25, 2011.

History

Botwin started out as a bassist for the dance music Pnuma Trio in 2004. He then created a record label, design company and store owner under the name Elm & Oak in downtown Boulder, Colorado. After Pnuma Trio, he began his solo career as a DJ under the name Alex B which has become Paper Diamond as of 2011.

After the release of Levitate, his first album, in 2011, he began to play shows and festivals around the country. Starting in 2012 with a US tour that saw him hit the road with The M Machine, he continued on to play the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a festival that takes place in April in Indio, California. After Coachella he played Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Michigan in June 2012. He then played Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois in early August 2012 before heading to New York City to play Electric Zoo Festival at the end of August 2012 on Randall's Island. He then kicked off his own solo Night Vision Tour 2012 [2] in September by releasing a 30-minute mix entitled "Night Vision Tour Mix 2012". He has also played at Bonnaroo Music Festival in June 2013 in Manchester, Tennessee.

Style

Paper Diamond uses an iPad uploaded with Touch OSC controlling Ableton [3] [4] when doing a live performance.

The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic music duo composed of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, from Manchester, England. Autolux is an American alternative rock band consisting of Eugene Goreshter, Greg Edwards and Carla Azar. The trio formed in 2001 and have released three full-length albums, Future Perfect (2004), Transit Transit (2010) and Pussy's Dead (2016). Their eclectic sound draws from post-punk, electronic music and krautrock.

Ryan Gary Raddon, better known by his stage name Kaskade, is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. DJ Times voted Kaskade "America's Best DJ" in 2011 and 2013. DJ Mag named Kaskade fifty-first on its 2009 list of Top 100 DJs.

Steel Train

Steel Train was an indie rock band from New Jersey. They have toured with The Juliana Theory, Tegan and Sara, Girl in a Coma, Ben Folds, The Fray, Silversun Pickups, Hanson, The Format, Gomez, O.A.R., Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin, Barenaked Ladies, fun. and others. Other highlights include performances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Coachella, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Late Show with David Letterman. The band played their final show at the Bowery Ballroom in January 2013.

Family Force 5

FF5 is an American Christian rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band formed in 2005 by brothers Solomon "Soul Glow Activatur" Olds, Joshua "Fatty" Olds, and Jacob "Crouton" Olds along with their two friends, Nathan "Nadaddy" Currin and Brad "20 Cent" Allen, who was later replaced by Derek "Chapstique" Mount. The group has released five studio albums, nine EPs, and two remix albums. They are often noted for their raucous, party-centric personae and eclectic mix of genres, ranging from rap metal to dance-pop.

The Pnuma Trio was an electronic musical group, bringing classical, jazz, funk, hip hop, and drum and bass influences. A recent article in Art Voice magazine dubbed the Pnuma Trio the "Music of the future."

Justice (band)

Rage Against the Machine reunion tour

The Rage Against the Machine Reunion Tour was a concert tour by American rock band Rage Against the Machine that took place from 2007 to 2011. It was the first tour for the band since they broke up in 2000. This tour saw Rage Against the Machine performing live worldwide sporadically for four years, with the exception of 2009, before going back on hiatus; the band would not tour again until 2021.

Oliver Sabin, formerly known as Unicorn Kid, is a Scottish electronic music/chip music composer and musician from Edinburgh, educated at Leith Academy. When asked about the name of the act, Sabin states "There’s no real story behind the name, it just kind of came about and fitted in with the fun, magical nature of the music." Sabin has had a number of BBC Radio 1 appearances including an early live session on the Vic Galloway BBC Radio 1 show and a BBC Maida Vale Studios session for Rob da Bank. In September 2014, he called it quits for Unicorn Kid to pursue a different alias that is yet to be announced.

Pretty Lights was originally a music project consisting of him and Michal Menert, who left after the release of their first album. Rick Rubin once described Pretty Lights as "the face and voice of the new American electronic music scene".

Good Times Ahead (GTA) are an electronic music duo from Miami consisting of house, electro house, trap and hip hop producers Julio Mejia and Matt Toth. After releasing music with the support of Laidback Luke in 2011, the duo caught the attention of Diplo, who featured them on his 2012 "Express Yourself" which was written by their cousin Joel Santillan. GTA has released music on labels such as Warner Bros., A-Trak's Fool's Gold, Laidback Luke's MixMash, Steve Angello's SIZE, Diplo's Mad Decent and more. They've toured the globe with Rihanna on her 2013 Diamonds World Tour, with Calvin Harris and Tiësto on their Greater Than World Tour, and have headlined their own Death To Genres Tour and Goons Take America Tours.
