Paposh Nagar Graveyard is one of the oldest graveyards located in Paposh Nagar, Karachi, Pakistan. [1]

In February 2017, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has banned burial in Paposh Nagar Graveyard due to lack of availability of space. [2] [3] But despite the ban, people are illegally burying corpses. [4] [5]

The Sabri Brothers were a musical band from Pakistan who were performers of Sufi qawwali music and were closely connected to the Chishti Order. They are considered one of the greatest Sufi qawwali singers of all times. The Sabri Brothers were led by Ghulam Farid Sabri and his brother Maqbool Ahmed Sabri. They are often referred to as Shahenshah-e-Qawwali and are also known as the roving ambassadors of Pakistan. The band was initially founded by Maqbool Ahmed Sabri at the age of 11 years and was known as Bacha Qawwal Party. His elder brother Ghulam Farid Sabri joined after insistence from their father. He became the leader of the group and the band soon became known as the Sabri Brothers. They were the first-ever qawwali artists to perform qawwali in the United States and other Western countries; they were also the first-ever Asian artists to perform at New York's Carnegie Hall in 1975.

Sahir Lakhnavi was a Pakistani classical Urdu poet and the 20th century's last marsiya writer of Pakistan. He wrote gazals, nazms, qataat-i-tareekh, particularly marsiya and qasida throughout his literary career. He wrote twenty books on multiple subjects, including linguistics, poetry, prosody, seerat, history, theology and tafseer. He also appears to have written to the Persian literature, but his primary contribution appears in Urdu.

He was an alumnus of Jamia Qasmia Madrasa Shahi, University of Karachi and the University of Sindh. He wrote more than 150 books including Ifādat-e-Azād and Maulānā ʻUbaidullāh Sindhī ke inqilābī manṣūbe.

On 14 August 2021, at 9:30 pm 14 people, including six women and three children, were killed and several others injured in a grenade attack on Independence Day at night in Karachi. All the victims belonged to a family in Khwazakhela, Swat District.

Ahmad Ali Saayein was a Hindko sufi poet from Peshawar. He was a contemporary of the Urdu and Persian poet Muhammad Iqbal.
