Parque Morelos is a public park in Centro, Guadalajara, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. [1]
An equestrian statue of José María Morelos, who led the Mexican War of Independence movement, is installed in the park.

It is home to numerous landmarks, including Guadalajara Cathedral, the Teatro Degollado, the Templo Expiatorio, the UNESCO World Heritage site Hospicio Cabañas, and the San Juan de Dios Market—the largest indoor market in Latin America.
Tepatitlán de Morelos is a city and municipality founded in 1530, in the central Mexican state of Jalisco. It is located in the area known as Los Altos de Jalisco, about 70 km east of state capital Guadalajara. It is part of the macroregion of the Bajío. Its surrounding municipality of the same name had an area of 1,400 km2. Its most distinctive feature is the Baroque-style parish church in the centre of the city dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. Other notable sites include the kiosk that sits on the Plaza de Armas in downtown, the Temple of San Antonio, and the city hall. The latter is one of the most distinctive features in the city, built in neoclassic-baroque style.

The season ran from August 5 to December 10, 2006. Querétaro was promoted to the Primera División de México thus, Dorados was relegated to the Primera División A. Guadalajara won the championship for a record 11th time, qualifying for the CONCACAF Champions' Cup 2007.

It began on Friday, January 19, 2007, and ran until April 29, when the regular season ended. UAG and UANL inaugurated the season with a match in which UAG won 2-1. Reigning champions Guadalajara were eliminated in semifinals by archrivals América and thus could not retain their title. Querétaro, who finished last in the percentage table, were relegated to Primera División A at the end of the season. On May 27, Pachuca defeated América 3-2 and became champions for the fifth time.

Celaya's franchise was bought out by the owner of Aerolineas Internacionales, Jorge Rodriguez Marie, and it was moved to Cuernavaca. Thus, creating a team that was known as Los Colibries de Morelos. Monterrey defeated Morelia to win their second championship.

It was designed by Miguel Miramontes and it was unveiled in September 1965. It is installed along Parque Morelos, previously named Paseo de la Alameda. The bronze statue is placed in front of a quarry obelisk. Above the main statue, there is a bronze eagle that represents one of the former coats of arms of the country.
