Partials

Partials was published on February 28, 2012 by the HarperCollins imprint Balzer & Bray. [2] Common Sense Media gave Partials a five star rating and recommended the book for readers age fourteen and up. [3] The Los Angeles Times noted that although the book is young adult fiction, older readers may enjoy the book as well. [4] The protagonist of the story is Kira Walker. [5] The story is set in a dystopian world where the only living human beings left are in Long Island, New York. [6] In the story, "Partials" are humans that were engineered to be weapons. [7] In Slate, Chelsey Philpot compared the book to Megan McCafferty's book Thumped and Anna Carey's Eve. [8] The book is 480 pages long. [9]

Fragments

Fragments was published on February 26, 2013 by the HarperCollins imprint Balzer & Bray. [10] Common Sense Media gave Fragments a five star rating and recommended the book for readers age fourteen and up. [11] Fragments follows Kira as she searches for the remains of a company called ParaGen. [12] Kira allies herself with two Partials during her journey through the wasteland. [13]

Ruins

Ruins was published on March 11, 2014 by the HarperCollins imprint Balzer & Bray. [14] Common Sense Media gave Ruins a five star rating and recommended the book for readers age fourteen and up. [15] The book is 464 pages long. [16] Ruins was a finalist in the Young Adult Speculative Novel category of the 2014 AML Awards. [17] [18]

The Hate U Give is a 2017 young adult novel by Angie Thomas. It is Thomas's debut novel, expanded from a short story she wrote in college in reaction to the police shooting of Oscar Grant. The book is narrated by Starr Carter, a 16-year-old African-American girl from a poor neighborhood who attends an elite private school in a predominantly white, affluent part of the city. Starr becomes entangled in a national news story after she witnesses a white police officer shoot and kill her childhood friend, Khalil. She speaks up about the shooting in increasingly public ways, and social tensions culminate in a riot after a grand jury decides not to indict the police officer for the shooting.

Overnight, Bri becomes an internet sensation after posting a rap hit which sparks controversy. As Bri defeats the odds to "make it" she battles controversy to achieve her dreams. It is set in the same universe as Thomas' first book The Hate U Give.
