Pascale Bruderer Wyss (born 28 July 1977 in Baden, Switzerland) [1] is a Swiss politician. She was a member of the Council of States from 2011 to 2019 and a member of the National Council of Switzerland from 2002 to 2011. She was the President of the National Council in 2009 and 2010. [2] She is a member of the Social Democratic Party.
Bruderer attended the University of Zurich, and the University of Växjö, where she earned a master's degree in political science. [1]
Bruderer retired from politics and did not run for re-election in 2019. [3] She was elected to the board of Bernexpo Holding in 2019. [4]

Simonetta Myriam Sommaruga is a Swiss politician serving as President of the Swiss Confederation since 2020. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she has been a Member of the Federal Council since 2010. Sommaruga has served as head of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 2019 and previously was head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police. She served as Vice President of the Federal Council for the year 2014; in 2015 Sommaruga assumed the role of President of the Swiss Confederation. Subsequently, she returned to the council's presidency in 2020.
