Patience Nkunda Kinshaba

Patience Nkunda Kinshaba also written as Patience Kinshaba Nkunda is a Ugandan politician, legislator and woman representative member of Parliament for Kanungu District in the eleventh Parliament of Uganda. [1] [2] [3] [4] She is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) [2] [1] [5]

In the eleventh parliament, Kinshaba serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs. [6]

Political career

Kinshaba won the NRM primaries after defeating Elizabeth Karungi and she became the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag in the 2021 National elections. . [7] [8] She won the woman representative member of Parliament for Kanungu District.

Kinshaba presented a motion in the Parliament of Uganda sitting session of wanting the government of Uganda to provide free drugs for Ugandans suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. But the Ugandan legislators got concerned about the high cost of drugs to treat such Non-Communicable diseases and they demanded that government should provide such drugs for free because of the low stock in public health centres. [9] Kinshaba's motion was seconded by the Tororo Municipality Member of Parliament Apollo Yeri who demanded that the Government would take over through the National Medical Stores (NMS) to procure those drugs free of charge. [9]

Kinshaba demanded the Ugandan government to provide free screening and treatment for retinopathy (which causes blindness), free blood lipid control (to regulate cholesterol levels) and also provide screening for early signs of diabetes-related kidney disease and treatment. [10] [9]

Kinshaba appealed to Ugandan government to procure for the people of Kanungu District more health equipments for their health centre IV operated on one generator that was also unreliable [11]

Kinshaba attended an event for commissioning of the Ambulance that was donated to Bwindi Community Hospital in Kanungu District by Japan through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects. [12]

Thomas Tayebwa is a member of the Parliament of Uganda since 2016, and has served as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament since 2022. He was appointed as the Government Chief Whip by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Since 2016, he serves as the Member of Parliament for Ruhinda North County in Mitooma District and a member of NRM. Veronica Namaganda Nanyondo is a Ugandan politician who represents Bukomansimbi District. She belongs to National Unity Platform (NUP). Nanyondo began her political career in December 2015 under the Democratic Party(DP) ticket after being inspired by her sister Suzan Namaganda who died in road accident. Nanyondo is currently a woman MP for Bukomansimbi district who garnered 23,815 votes that made her a victor. She was interested in contesting for the position of Women MP because she wanted to build on what her late sister had started and thought that she was the right person to replace her.

Hellen Asamo also known as Asamo Hellen Grace is a Ugandan teacher and a representative of people with disabilities for Eastern region who served in the ninth and tenth Parliaments of Uganda. She won the 2021 general elections for her position as the representative of people with disabilities for Eastern region. Hellen is affiliated to the National Resistance Movement political party.

Solomon Silwany is a Ugandan politician and a member of the 11th parliament representing Bukooli County Central. He is a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
