Patricia Price is managing director and co-founder of the global public relations and digital marketing firm 8VA Music Consultancy. Price was previously the executive director of Portland Piano International and the Classical Product Manager for Allegro Media Group managing classical record labels.

Career

Price studied at Willamette University where she received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance and Bachelor of Arts in philosophy in 2004. [1] After graduating she was awarded a Fulbright Assistantship to study and work in Vienna, Austria for one year. After her return, Price worked at Allegro Media group for five years where she managed the classical division and acted as executive producer for over 75 albums. [2] She received her MBA from Willamette in 2009 and that same year became Executive Director of Portland Piano International, a non-profit organization which presents recitals featuring pianists such as Murray Perahia [3] and Vladimir Feltsman, [4] in addition to providing master classes. [5]

In 2012, Price founded 8VA Music Consultancy (previously the New York branch of Inverne Price Music Consultancy) with James Inverne. [6] [7] 8VA is global public relations and digital marketing firm for classical musicians and organizations whose clients include Lang Lang, Anne Akiko Meyers, Beijing Music Festival, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. [8] She manages the company with her husband, Matt Herman. [9] In December 2018, The New York Observer named 8VA one of "The Most Powerful Entertainment and Media PR Firms of 2018. " [10] In January 2019, Price was a featured "Inspired Woman" in clothing brand J.Jill's Rhythm & Blues campaign. [11]

Most recently, The New York Observer recognized 8VA again as one "The Top PR Firms for the Performing Arts" in 2024. [12]

Neil Edward Goldschmidt was an American businessman and Democratic politician from the state of Oregon who held local, state, and federal offices over three decades. The X-Ray Cafe was a small music venue in Portland, Oregon, United States from 1990 to 1994. An all-ages and community-oriented club, the X-Ray played a "heavyweight role in shaping Portland's underground culture", fostering such musical acts as The Dandy Warhols, Dead Moon, Elliott Smith, Team Dresch, and Quasi, and hosted national acts like Bikini Kill and Green Day and was described by Details as one of the best rock and roll clubs in the country. Located at 214 W. Burnside St., it was characterized by a surreal environment and performers; owners Tres Shannon and Benjamin Arthur Ellis, who took over the U.F.O Cafe to establish the X-Ray and were in the band The Kurtz Project, encouraged acts that featured instruments that aren't typically associated with rock music, like Big Daddy Meatstraw, who performed on stage in clown costumes. Keller initially hired go-go dancers as entertainment during the piano player's breaks, later hiring them full-time because of their popularity. Topless dancers wearing pasties were introduced in 1955. The club also featured comics, musicians, singers and other acts.
