The Belgian Pro League is the top league competition for association football clubs in Belgium. Contested by 16 clubs from the 2023–24 season onwards, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Challenger Pro League.
Cercle Brugge Koninklijke Sportvereniging is a Belgian professional football club based in Bruges. Cercle have played in the Belgian Pro League since the 2003–04 season, having previously spent several years in the Belgian Second Division following relegation in 1997. Their matricule is the n°12. The club plays home games at the Jan Breydel Stadium, which they share with fierce rivals Club Brugge. Cercle Brugge won their first national title in 1911, and won two more titles before the Second World War. The side also won the Belgian Cup in 1927 and in 1985, and have represented Belgium in European tournaments on several occasions.
Erwin Vandenbergh is a Belgian retired footballer who played as a forward. Between 1979 and 1991, he finished six times topscorer of the Belgian First Division, with three clubs. In 1980, he was European topscorer with 39 goals out of 34 games. As a Belgium national team regular, Vandenbergh scored a memorable victory goal against Argentina in the opening game of the 1982 World Cup in Spain.
Paul Van Himst is a Belgian former football player and a football manager who played as a forward, most notably for R.S.C. Anderlecht.
Arnór Guðjohnsen is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a striker. He spent seven years with Belgian club Anderlecht and was the top scorer in the 1986–87 season. He is the father of striker Eiður Guðjohnsen and the grandfather of striker Sveinn Aron Guðjohnsen. His younger son, also named Arnór, signed for Swansea City in July 2017, at the age of 16.
Josip Weber, nicknamed Joske, was a Croatian-Belgian professional football forward. He represented Croatia and Belgium at international level.
Francis Severeyns, nicknamed Cisse, is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a striker for Royal Antwerp, Pisa S.C., KV Mechelen, FC Tirol Innsbruck and K.F.C. Germinal Beerschot. He was the Jupiler League top scorer in 1988 with 24 goals. He played seven matches for the Belgium national team. Whilst at Antwerp he helped them to the 1993 European Cup Winners' Cup Final, in which he scored to tie the game at 1–1, although they went on to lose 3–1 to Parma.
Joseph Mermans, usually referred to as Jef Mermans was a football striker from Belgium, who played much of his career at Anderlecht, with whom he won seven Belgian Championship titles and finished top scorer of this competition three times. He played 399 games and scored 367 goals in first division, making him Anderlecht's all time topscorer.
Alexandre "Alex" Czerniatynski is a Belgian former footballer who played as a striker.
Kenneth Brylle Larsen is a Danish former professional footballer. He scored two goals in 16 matches for the Denmark national team and represented his country at the 1984 European Championship.
Geertruida "Ruud" Maria Geels is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker and attacking midfielder. He obtained 20 caps for the Netherlands national team, scoring eleven goals, in the 1970s.
Dieudonné "Dieumerci" Mbokani Bezua is a Congolese professional footballer who plays as a striker for Beveren. He is captain of the DR Congo national football team.
Bruno Versavel is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, most notably for KV Mechelen and R.S.C. Anderlecht.
