Benjamin served as the 76th president of the United States Conference of Mayors from 2018 to 2019.
William C. Hubbard is an American lawyer. He is the dean of the University of South Carolina School of Law and a former partner at the law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, based in Columbia, South Carolina. Hubbard is a co-founder and chair of the board of directors of the World Justice Project, a multinational, multidisciplinary initiative to strengthen the rule of law worldwide. He is a member of the council of the American Law Institute, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He served as President of the American Bar Association in 2014–15. As president, Hubbard led efforts to increase access to justice through innovation, reform the criminal justice system, provide legal assistance to unaccompanied immigrant children, improve support for victims of domestic violence, and strengthen the rule of law globally. Hubbard was appointed dean of the University of South Carolina School of Law with effect on 1 August 2020.
