Patrick Howley (born 1989) is an American reporter. [1] He is the former editor-in-chief of Big League Politics . [2]

Howley has been a reporter for Breitbart News in Washington, D.C., [3] [4] The Washington Free Beacon , and The Daily Caller . [3] He previously was an assistant editor for The American Spectator . [5] He has written for National File and The Epoch Times . [2]

In January 2017, Howley left Breitbart to start the far-right website Big League Politics. [4] He has been criticized for his style of journalism and satire. [6] [7] [8] [9] Right Wing Watch has described Howley as a "racist, antisemitic, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist." [10]

In 2019, Howley broke the story of a blackface and KKK costume photograph in Virginia governor Ralph Northam's medical school yearbook after receiving a tip from a "concerned citizen". [11] Howley's website also broke the news of sexual assault allegations against Virginia lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax. [12] [13]

In 2020, writing for National File, Howley broke the story of then-Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Cal Cunningham exchanging sexually suggestive texts with a woman who was not his wife. [1]

As of 2022, Howley was hosting a program on Patriots' Soapbox, a QAnon-aligned streaming network. [10]

On April 13, 2022, Howley went on an on-air racist rant regarding Anthony Mackie, a Black man hosting the CMT Music Awards: "I don't know who this Black guy is who's hosting it. It's supposed to be country music. No offense. Y'all have hip-hop, basketball. Just fly with your flock, bro." [14] [15]

Howley was suspended from Twitter in May 2022, following reporting by The Daily Beast on numerous antisemitic and racist tweets. [16] [17] In one such tweet, Howley "accused the musical artist Lizzo of advancing 'hostile agitation against White males on behalf of jewish interests' because the record label she is signed to is led by a Jewish male." Justin Edward Fairfax is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 41st lieutenant governor of Virginia from 2018 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the second African-American elected statewide in Virginia, following Douglas Wilder. In 2019, he faced sexual assault allegations dating to 2000 and 2004, which he denied. In 2021, he was a Democratic candidate for Governor of Virginia. He finished fourth in the Democratic primary with 3.54% of the vote.

The site was announced in 2017 by one of its founders as an investigative outfit. In early 2018, Big League Politics was acquired by Mustard Seed Media which is owned by Reilly O'Neal and Noel Fritsch. The Wall Street Journal describes the website as "a scrappy, pro-Trump outfit backed by Republican operatives".
