The Hon. Dr. Patrick Musimba MP (born 4 January 1970 in Kibwezi, Kenya) is a Kenyan politician and Member of the National Assembly representing the Kibwezi West Constituency in Makueni County.He is now vying for the gubernatorial seat of Makueni county in the 2022 elections. [1] [2] He was first elected to Parliament in March 2013 as an independent candidate, [3] [4] but announced in June 2019 that he was joining the Wiper party. [5]

Musimba earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, and a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Entrepreneurship, at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He also has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (BCom) from the University of Nairobi. [6]

Musimba is Chairman of Musimba Investment Group, which has interests in technology, security, agro business, mining, energy, sports promotion and ecotourism. [7]

Kivutha Kibwana is a Kenyan politician and human rights activist. He was Minister for Defence, Minister for Environment and a former member of parliament for the Makueni Constituency. He is also a former advisor to President Mwai Kibaki. Prof. Kibwana's second term as the first Governor of Makueni County ended in 2022.

Local elections were held in Makueni County to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.

Kibwezi West is a constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies in Makueni County.

Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. is the current Governor of Makueni County government, Kenya. He is a member and chair of the Wiper Democratic Movement, Kenya and was elected as the second Senator of Makueni County Government on the WDM-K ticket in a by-election in July 2013, after the demise of his father lawyer Mutula Kilonzo and is currently serving as the second Governor for Makueni county, having been elected in the August 2022 elections. He is married to Anita Mutula and they are blessed with two children
