The Patriot League is a collegiate athletic conference comprising private institutions of higher education and two United States service academies based in the Northeastern United States. Except for the Ivy League, it is the most selective group of higher education institutions in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and has a very high student-athlete graduation rate for both the NCAA graduation success rate and the federal graduation rate.

The SEC women's soccer tournament is the conference championship tournament in college soccer for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The tournament has been held every year since 1993. It is a single-elimination tournament with seeding based on conference records and the regular-season champion hosting the semifinal and final matches. The field expanded from four to six teams in its second season, 1994, and then to eight teams in 1996. The tournament expanded again to 10 teams in 2012 and then further to twelve teams after the SEC expanded in 2024. The winner, declared conference champion, receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I women's soccer championship.

The Bucknell Bison men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. They are an NCAA Division I team and member of the Patriot League.
The Army Black Knights men's soccer program represents the United States Military Academy in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. Founded in 1921, the Black Knights compete in the Patriot League. The Black Knights play in the Patriot League and are coached by Russell Payne, a former goalkeeper who played in the A-League. Army plays their home matches at Clinton Field in West Point, New York.
The Lehigh Mountain Hawks men's lacrosse team represents Lehigh University in NCAA Division I college lacrosse. The Mountain Hawks play their home games at Frank Banko Field, which is part of a complex that also includes Lehigh's soccer and field hockey venues. Will Scudder is the program's current head coach since June 19, 2023.
The Army Black Knights softball team represents the United States Military Academy in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Patriot League. From 1982 until 1990, the team was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Black Knights are currently led by head coach Jen Consaul. The team plays its home games at Army Softball Complex located on the university's campus.
The Missouri State Bears men's soccer team represent Missouri State University in NCAA Division I men's soccer. As of the next NCAA soccer season in 2025, the Bears will compete in the American Athletic Conference, after more than 30 years as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The team plays its home matches at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium. They are currently coached by Michael Seabolt, who is entering his fourth season as head coach. Missouri State has made 9 NCAA tournament appearances, most recently in 2024. The Bears' overall record in the NCAA tournament is 3–9. They have won 12 conference regular-season titles and three conference tournaments. Missouri State has had 8 players selected in the MLS Draft.

The quarterfinals of the tournament will be held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Nickerson Field in Boston, Massachusetts. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Bucknell Bison, however they were unable to defend their crown, losing to Lehigh 2–1 in the first round. The tournament was won by the Boston University Terriers, who were the #1 seed and defeated Lehigh 1–0 in the final. The conference championship was the fourth for the Boston University women's soccer program, all of which have come under coach Nancy Feldman.

Bucknell entered the tournament as the first seed and qualified for the Final. However, they were unable to defend their title as the fell to second seed Boston University 8–7 in a penalty shootout in the final. The conference championship was the fifth for the Boston University women's soccer program, and first for head coach Casey Brown. As tournament champions, Boston University earned the Patriot League's automatic berth into the 2024 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament.
