Paul Stanley Boris (born December 13,1955) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher. [1] He played for the Minnesota Twins in 1982. [2]
Borris was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1978. [2] He played his first professional season with their Class A Fort Lauderdale Yankees that year. [3] After spending the 1979 season at Class A Fort Lauderdale,he was promoted to the Double-A Nashville Sounds in 1980. [3] He reached Triple-A with the Columbus Clippers in 1981. [3]
Borris was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 1981 Rule 5 draft. [2] He was subsequently returned to New York but then traded back to Minnesota with Ron Davis and Greg Gagne in exchange for Roy Smalley III on April 10,1982. [2] Borris began the 1982 season with the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens but was promoted to the major league club to make his MLB debut on May 21. [2] [3] Borris made 23 relief appearances for the Twins pitching 49+2⁄3 innings and accumulating a 1–2 win–loss record with a 3.99 earned run average and 30 strikeouts. [4] In 1983, he played for Triple-A Toledo and the Double-A Orlando Twins. [3]
Borris played his last professional season with the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A Richmond Braves in 1984. [3]
Rubén Angel Sierra García is a Puerto Rican former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder. Over 20 seasons, Sierra played for the Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics (1992–95), New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers (1996), Cincinnati Reds (1997), Toronto Blue Jays (1997), Chicago White Sox (1998), Seattle Mariners (2002) and Minnesota Twins (2006). Sierra also signed with the Cleveland Indians at the end of 1999, but was released towards the end of spring training in March 2000.
Michael Warren Maroth is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) starting pitcher and current pitching coach for the UCF Knights. Born in Orlando, Florida, and after attending the University of Central Florida, the left-handed Maroth made his Major League debut in 2002 for the Detroit Tigers.
Roy Frederick Smalley III is an American former professional baseball shortstop who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1975 through 1987 for the Texas Rangers (1975–76), Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees (1982–84), and Chicago White Sox (1984). Smalley was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. His father, Roy Jr., was also an MLB league shortstop, and his uncle, Gene Mauch, was a long-time MLB manager and infielder.
Donald James Cooper is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher who spent parts of four seasons with the Minnesota Twins (1981–1982), Toronto Blue Jays (1983) and New York Yankees (1985). He was the pitching coach for the Chicago White Sox from July 22, 2002, until the end of the 2020 season. Under his tutelage, both Mark Buehrle and Philip Humber pitched perfect games, Lucas Giolito pitched a no-hitter, and the White Sox won the 2005 World Series. On October 12, 2020, Cooper and the White Sox parted ways after 32 seasons with the organization at various levels.
The 1982 season was the first year that the Minnesota Twins played at the Metrodome, which they would continue to play in until 2009. The team finished 60–102, seventh in the American League West. It was the first time the Twins lost more than 100 games since moving to Minnesota. This feat of more than 100 losses would be matched in 2016 and was surpassed by one game as that record was 59-103.
Kevin Michael Slowey is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Slowey was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the second round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft. He also played for the Miami Marlins. After his playing career ended, Slowey joined the Major League Baseball Players Association as an assistant.
Richard Francis Stelmaszek was an American Major League Baseball catcher, and bullpen coach for the Minnesota Twins.

He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, and Cleveland Indians. William Gustave James Kunkel was an American relief pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1961 to 1963, who went on to a career as an American League umpire from 1968 through 1984. As a player, he was listed at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) and 187 pounds (85 kg); he both threw and batted right-handed. His son Jeff was a major league shortstop from 1984 to 1992.
