John Paul Evans [1] (born May 2, 1954) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played three seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton. The Oilers compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. They play their home games at Rogers Place, which opened in 2016. Kris Knoblauch is the head coach as of November 12, 2023, and Stan Bowman was named general manager on July 24, 2024. The Oilers are one of two NHL franchises based in Alberta, the other being the Calgary Flames. Their proximity has led to a fierce rivalry known as the "Battle of Alberta".
The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the top junior ice hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey. The league consists of 16 active teams located in the Midwestern United States and Great Plains, for players between the ages of 16 and 21. The USHL is strictly amateur, allowing former players to compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college hockey.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Donato grew up in Dedham, a suburb to the southwest. His son Ryan was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and currently plays with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL.
Paul Edward Vincent Evans is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played 11 games in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1976–77 and 1977–78 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1975 to 1979, was spent in the minor leagues. He was born in Peterborough, Ontario, and is the brother of two other NHL hockey players, Doug Evans and Kevin Evans.

The 1990–91 New Jersey Devils season was the 17th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974, and ninth season since the franchise relocated from Colorado prior to the 1982–83 NHL season. The season saw the team finish fourth in the Patrick Division and qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive season, losing in the division semi-finals to the Pittsburgh Penguins. This was the first time in the franchise's 17-year history that the team qualified for the playoffs in consecutive seasons. The team would make one huge move towards their future when they drafted Martin Brodeur with their first round selection in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft.

It's notable as featuring one of the weakest first rounds in draft history, as only two players played more than 450 career NHL games. In 2002, Federko was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame after playing fourteen seasons (1976–1990), with 13 of those with the St. Louis Blues. The Cleveland Barons drafted as the California Golden Seals and the Colorado Rockies took part as the Kansas City Scouts. The two franchises would relocate to their new cities on July 15 of that year.
