James Peter Stynes OAM was an Irish footballer who converted from Gaelic football to Australian rules football and the first international player to be inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2003. Playing for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), he was one of the game's most prominent figures, breaking the record for most consecutive games of VFL/AFL football (244) and winning the sport's highest individual honour, the Brownlow Medal, in 1991. Jess Gardner is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's competition. Gardner was drafted by the Western Bulldogs with their 17th selection and 131st overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the thirty-two point win against Fremantle at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2017 season. She played five matches in her debut season and kicked one goal. She was delisted at the conclusion of the 2017 season.
