Paul Hertzog is an American film composer and educator. [1] In his brief career in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Hertzog composed the soundtracks for two Jean-Claude Van Damme movies, Kickboxer and Bloodsport , as well as the scores for Breathing Fire and My Chauffeur . Hertzog was a teacher at Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California, where he taught English and Music Theory.

After a nearly twenty-year hiatus, Hertzog released a CD titled Freeing the Waters in 2009. It consisted of previously unreleased tracks written during his years as a film composer. [2]

Early in 2015, Hertzog released a CD of new music, reminiscent of his work in "Bloodsport" and "Kickboxer," titled "Waking the Dragon." He composed, performed and recorded this latest CD.

Soundtrack CDs for both Kickboxer and Bloodsport were created in limited quantity. Because of this, they are considered collectors items by many, and are usually very hard to find.

Hertzog worked with Stan Bush on both scores.

On June 26, 2007, a limited edition re-release of the soundtrack on CD by record label Perseverance Records was created. This release is considered by fans of the soundtrack as a vast improvement over all previous releases as the CD contains for the first time, the original versions of the tracks performed by Stan Bush as heard in the motion picture. The music of the video game Final Fantasy X was composed by regular series composer Nobuo Uematsu, along with Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano. It was the first title in the main Final Fantasy series in which Uematsu was not the sole composer. The Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack was released on four Compact Discs in 2001 by DigiCube, and was re-released in 2004 by Square Enix. 24: The Soundtrack, released on December 7, 2004 in the US, is based on the Fox television drama series 24, contains nineteen tracks of music composed exclusively for the first three seasons by producer Sean Callery, including the show's full theme song which has never been aired. The music contained in the soundtrack is somewhat of a hybrid mix of electronic pulses and rich orchestral textures that is meant to give each episode its own sound, yet at the same time have a sound that is consistent with the rest of the series in a way that complements the show's "real-time" format. The insert of the album contains various photographs from the three seasons and also includes Callery's comments about how he went about producing each track. The liner notes also list which specific episode each track comes from. The album was released by Varèse Sarabande and Fox Music in the US, Virgin TV in the UK, and EMI in Japan.

The soundtrack to SpaceCamp is a release of the film's musical score by John Williams, first released on 45 and LP in 1986, and reissued on CD in 1992 and again in 2010. The Last Kumite is an upcoming German-American martial arts film directed by Ross W. Clarkson, starring Mathis Landwehr and Matthias Hues. It is a revival of underground fighting programmers of the 1980s and early 1990s, such as those released by Cannon Films, Seasonal Films and Imperial Entertainment. Much of the film's supporting cast and some of its creative personnel have ties to that era, including veteran performers Cynthia Rothrock, Billy Blanks, Kurt McKinney, and brothers Mohammed "Michel" Qissi and Abdel Qissi. The story follows a martial artist who is forced to take part in an illegal fighting tournament after his daughter is kidnapped by criminal figures.
