Paulette Doan (married name: Ormsby) is a Canadian former ice dancer. She competed with Kenneth Ormsby. Together, they were the 1963 and 1964 Canadian champions and in those years won bronze and silver medals (respectively) at the World Figure Skating Championships.
During her competitive career she lived in Toronto and was also enrolled in a secretarial course. [1]
After the 1964 season, Doan and Ormsby turned professional and toured with Ice Follies. They announced their engagement the day they joined the show. [2]
As of 2010, Paulette Ormsby is on the coaching staff at the Scarboro Figure Skating Club in Toronto, Ontario. [3]

Maribel Yerxa Vinson-Owen was an American figure skater and coach. She competed in the disciplines of ladies' singles and pair skating. As a single skater, she was the 1932 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World medalist, the 1937 North American champion, and a nine-time U.S. national champion. As a pair skater, she was the 1935 North American champion and four-time national champion with George Hill. She also won two national titles with Thornton Coolidge. She was the first female sportswriter at The New York Times, and continued competing and winning medals while working as a full-time reporter.

Jelinek's family fled to Switzerland, then to Canada from Czechoslovakia in 1948, following the Communist coup d'état when communists nationalized his father's cork and aluminium caps factory.
