pc Quest was a pop music group in the 1990s from Oklahoma. They were managed by George Tobin, best known for managing Tiffany, and Tim James, one half of the duo Rock Mafia. They were featured in Bop and Teen Beat magazine as teen idols.
The quartet was originally signed to Geffen Records in 1990, but an initial release of "After The Summer's Gone" that fall to Contemporary hit radio stations through both Geffen and Giant Records failed to chart. Months later, now signed to Tobin's Headlinerecords and RCA Records, their "Can I Call You My Girl?" became a minor hit, followed by a reissue of "After The Summer's Gone", which narrowly missed the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. A 1992 follow-up album failed to yield any hits, and the group parted ways.
Group member Chad Petree would find success years later as one of the leaders of indie rock band Shiny Toy Guns, with brother Stephen credited as a writer on several of the band's songs.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" is a song by the American rock band Nirvana. It is the opening track and lead single from the band's second album, Nevermind (1991), released on DGC Records. The unexpected success of the song propelled Nevermind to the top of several albums charts at the start of 1992, an event often marked as the point when grunge entered the mainstream. It was Nirvana's biggest hit, charting high on music industry charts around the world in 1991 and 1992, and was number one on the charts in Belgium, France, New Zealand and Spain. It was met with wide critical acclaim, and described as an "anthem for apathetic kids" of Generation X. Although Nirvana grew uncomfortable with the mainstream and commercial attention the song brought to them, listeners and critics continue to praise "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as one of the greatest songs of all time.

New Kids on the Block is an American boy band from Dorchester, Massachusetts. The band consists of brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood. New Kids on the Block enjoyed success in the late 1980s and early 1990s and have sold more than 80 million records worldwide, and are often credited for paving the way for future boy bands such as Take That, Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC. They won two American Music Awards in 1990 for Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo, or Group and Favorite Pop/Rock Album. In 1991, they performed the halftime show at Super Bowl XXV, a first for a popular music group.
Incesticide is a compilation album by the American rock band Nirvana. It consists of their 1990 non-album single "Sliver", B-sides, demos, outtakes, cover versions, and radio broadcast recordings, and as such is not the official follow-up to the band's breakthrough album, Nevermind. The album was released on December 14, 1992, in Europe, and December 15, 1992, in the United States. It eventually reached number 39 on the Billboard 200.
Fastbacks are a Seattle, Washington, punk rock band. Formed in 1979 by songwriter/guitarist Kurt Bloch, and friends Lulu Gargiulo and Kim Warnick, they disbanded in 2001 but have reunited multiple times. Their sound mixes a generally punk rock approach to vocals and sound textures with poppy tunes and strong musicianship.
Van Zant was an American musical duo composed of brothers Donnie Van Zant and Johnny Van Zant. Both are brothers of Ronnie Van Zant, the original lead singer for the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Johnny became the lead vocalist for the reunited Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1987. Dreams Never Die is the fourth studio album by Tiffany, released on November 21, 1993. It represented an attempt to return to pop success three years after her last album, and five years after her last commercially successful one. It was released in various countries of Asia, but not in the United States; she had retained a greater degree of popularity in Asia than in the United States. An American release was planned but never released; it was expected to have some changes from the Asian version, because, as Tiffany said at the time, "A lot of the stuff in the Asia market is a little more pop than what I want to do here. I want to break away from the bubble gum thing... My goal is to do not hard rock, but a semi-rock sound." Earlier in 1993, Tiffany gave a series of performances at the Las Vegas Hilton's casino lounge, which included songs from this album.

We Are Pilots is the debut studio album by American electronic rock band Shiny Toy Guns. After previously being independently released throughout 2005, it was officially released on October 17, 2006, through Universal Motown in the United States and Mercury Records in the United Kingdom, with liner notes of the album referring to it as "version 3.0". Production, recording, and writing dates back as far as the early 2000s, with several songs being written during founding members Gregori Chad Petree and Jeremy Dawson's previous project, Dangerous Insects. Musically, We Are Pilots primarily uses influences of both rock music and electronic music, including elements of alternative rock, indie rock, pop, electropop, post-punk revival and disco, with the band receiving comparisons to The Killers and Franz Ferdinand.

That same year, they were nominated for the Canadian Juno Award for Most Promising Group. The single reached #2 in Canada and #1 on the Canadian Billboard 100. A follow-up single, a remake of "Teen Angel", was their final chart single in America. The parent album, entitled Last Kiss, was released on Ampex Records in Canada, Sussex Records in the U.S., and A&M Records throughout the rest of the world.
