Gregori Chad Petree (born Shawnee, Oklahoma) is a musician who is best known as co-lead vocalist and guitarist of American new wave/indie/rock band Shiny Toy Guns. He also contributes music for production libraries such as Killer Tracks.

Chad's previous bands included: Slyder, Paradigm, Cloud2Ground, R.R.D.S., Dangerous Insects, and the 90's pop group PC Quest.

PC Quest (1990-1992)

Chad participated in this band with his brother, Stephen Petree.

Paradigm (1995-1998)

Stephen Petree and Chad Petree teamed up again for this band and released three albums on Owl Records label. In 1995, they released Fish and in 1996 they followed with singles and EP's of various version of Too Big for the Garage. [2] Several songs were reimagined for the Cloud2Ground albums such as Face 2 Face on their E-Majn album.

Cloud2Ground (1998-2000)

While Cloud2Ground was started by Jeremy Dawson in 1996, Chad got back together with Jeremy in 1998. In 2000, they released a second album, The Gate (Beautiful). [1]

Dangerous Insects (2001-2004)

Songs from Dangerous Insects, "Starts With One" and "Chemistry of a Car Crash" traveled with Chad to Shiny Toy Guns, appearing on We Are Pilots along with "Rainy Monday" "You Are The One" and "Waiting"

Shiny Toy Guns (2002-present)

Chad is the co-founder along with Jeremy Dawson of Shiny Toy Guns. He is the guitarist and lead male vocalist.

Chad wrote and co-wrote many of the songs on We Are Pilots , Shiny Toy Guns's first album, as well as many song's from their second album, Season of Poison . His brother, Stephen Petree, helped write several songs on We Are Pilots as well.

Chad also co-wrote and co-produced six tracks on the 2005 album release The Other Side by recording artist LOU.

Hybridigital (2009-present)

Hybridigital is Jeremy and Chad's side project, and subsection of Shiny Toy Guns, where they put on live shows of remixes of their Shiny Toy Guns songs. They feature live guitars, keyboards, and (male) vocals.

Mirror Machines (2010)

A second band by chad and jeremy featuring "Stadium/Sci-fi rock". An EP, Pray For Rain, [2] was released on Nov 11, 2021. [3]

We Are Pilots is the debut studio album by American electronic rock band Shiny Toy Guns. After previously being independently released throughout 2005, it was officially released on October 17, 2006, through Universal Motown in the United States and Mercury Records in the United Kingdom, with liner notes of the album referring to it as "version 3.0". Production, recording, and writing dates back as far as the early 2000s, with several songs being written during founding members Gregori Chad Petree and Jeremy Dawson's previous project, Dangerous Insects. Musically, We Are Pilots primarily uses influences of both rock music and electronic music, including elements of alternative rock, indie rock, pop, electropop, post-punk revival and disco, with the band receiving comparisons to The Killers and Franz Ferdinand.

Cloud2Ground sometimes stylized in all lowercase) was an American electronic dance music production duo, consisting of Jeremy Dawson and Chad Petree. Dawson and Petree grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and met when they were teenagers. They played together in various bands, before separating to pursue other projects. Dawson began Cloud2Ground as a solo project and released his first demo under the name in 1996. In 1997 he signed to N*Soul Records and released the album E-Majn the same year. In 1998 he was rejoined by Petree, and in 1999 they moved to Los Angeles. In 2000, they released a second album, The Gate (Beautiful).

pc Quest was a pop music group in the 1990s from Oklahoma. They were managed by George Tobin, best known for managing Tiffany, and Tim James, one half of the duo Rock Mafia. They were featured in Bop and Teen Beat magazine as teen idols.

Tim David Kelly is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, graphic designer & composer for TV/film. He is the singer, guitarist and songwriter for the alternative rock band Kicking Harold whose still popular song "Gasoline" from Space Age Breakdown was featured as the main theme for 8 seasons on TLC's automobile make-over show, Overhaulin'. Kelly has written many songs for others, including co-writing "Money For That" for the band Shiny Toy Guns. He has produced several albums, including co-producing Lightning Strikes Again by Dokken. Kelly has composed main themes and music cues used in television and film including Gene Simmons Family Jewels (A&E) & Little Steven's Underground Garage. Kicking Harold released their 5th album, "Red Light District" in 2015 and completed a 25 date American tour as direct support for "The Winery Dogs". In 2017 Kelly opened a new music production studio in Burbank, CA and is currently working again with other artist as well as his own projects.

The album features the return of the band's original female vocalist, Carah Faye Charnow. The album spawned three singles: "Waiting Alone", "Fading Listening", and "Somewhere to Hide".
