Ibestad is a municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Central Hålogaland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hamnvik. Some of the other larger villages in Ibestad include Engenes, Laupstad, Rollnes, Sørrollnes, Sørvika, and Å.

The 2022 Eliteserien was the 78th season of top-tier football in Norway. This was the sixth season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen. Molde were crowned the champions at the end of the season, winning their 5th Norwegian league title.
The 2022 season was Sandefjord's third consecutive year in the top flight now known as Eliteserien, a record in the club's history. They participated in Eliteserien and the Cup. In the end, Sandefjord finished at 14th place but won relegation play-offs against Kongsvinger.
