Per Eklund (born July 9, 1970) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player.
Eklund began playing hockey in Sollentuna HC [1] but moved to Väsby IK to play in a higher level.
He played one game in Allsvenskan, where Väsby had been relegated to from Elitserien, during the 1987–88 season. After a few years unsuccessful attempts to reach Elitserien, Eklund moved to Huddinge IK in the same division after the 1991–92 season. The team managed to reach the last promotion playoff two seasons in a row, however did not manage to go all the way to Elitserien. [2]
He made his Elitserien debut in Djurgårdens IF during the 1994–95 season. Eklund managed to score 19 goals and 29 point and was awarded Rookie of the Year. [3] His achievements in Elitserien drew attention from NHL, and he was drafted by Detroit Red Wings in 1995, 182nd overall. [4] He played the following two seasons in Djurgården before moving to Detroit's AHL franchise Adirondack Red Wings in 1997. The team made it to the Calder Cup but lost all three games in the first round against Albany River Rats. [5]
Eklund returned to Djurgården after just one season in North America. He became Swedish champion with Djurgården in 2000, before moving abroad again, this time to the German team Krefeld Pinguine. He was not able to help the team to make the playoffs, and he moved back to Sweden and Linköpings HC the following season. After a total of five seasons in Linköping he moved back for a final Elitserien season in Djurgården. His last professional team was German Straubing Tigers which he played for during the 2006–07 season. He started playing hockey at a lower level in his first club, Sollentuna. After the 2008–09 season, he ended his playing career and became general manager for the senior team. [6]

Kvalserien, also known as Kvalserien till SHL, was the Swedish round-robin ice hockey tournament to qualify for play in the next season of the Swedish Hockey League, Sweden's top-level ice hockey league for men. It was replaced by a playoff round in the 2014–15 season.
Huddinge IK, is a Swedish ice hockey team from Huddinge, a southern suburb in Stockholm County. The team is currently playing in the third highest league in Sweden, Hockeyettan. In the middle of the 1990s, a women's floorball section was founded, whose A-team advanced to Elitserien, the highest league, in 2008.
Kent "Lill-Kenta" Johansson is a retired Swedish ice hockey player, former head coach of Frölunda HC in Elitserien.
Patric Gösta Hörnqvist is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player. He played for the Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Florida Panthers.
Dick Axelsson is a Swedish former professional ice hockey winger. He last played for Väsby IK in the Hockeyettan. He was drafted 62nd overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Axelsson won the Swedish Championship with Färjestads in 2009, and 2011 when he also made the Elitserien All-Star team.
Roger Melin is a Swedish ice hockey coach and former player who most recently served as head coach of Leksands IF of the SHL. He has also previously coached SHL clubs Brynäs IF, Färjestad BK, Frölunda HC, AIK and Linköping HC, as well as Hammarby IF and Rögle BK in the Swedish second-tier league. His playing career included five seasons in the Elitserien, with AIK, Örebro IK, and Hammarby, as well as several seasons in the second and third tiers with Väsby IK. His brief stint in North America during the 1980–81 and 1981–82 seasons was mostly spent in the Central Hockey League, though he also played 3 National Hockey League games with the Minnesota North Stars

Johannes Salmonsson is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for IK Oskarshamn of the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Salmonsson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins organization in the 2nd round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. His youth team was Almtuna IS.
The 2009–10 Djurgårdens IF Hockey season was the club's 34th season in the Swedish elite league Elitserien. Hardy Nilsson returned to Djurgården as head coach on March 2, 2009. Nilsson previously coached Djurgården during the 1999–2000 and the 2000–01 seasons. The club became Swedish champions during both of these seasons. Djurgården lost last season's scoring leader when Fredrik Bremberg moved to Atlant Moscow Oblast. The team was later reinforced by former NHL and Djurgården player Marcus Nilson. Marcus Ragnarsson replaced Jimmie Ölvestad as team captain on August 7, 2009. The regular season started on away ice on September 24, 2009, against HV71 and was concluded on March 13, 2010, away against Frölunda HC. Djurgården reached the final in the playoff rounds, where the team lost 4–2 in games against HV71.
The 2009–10 Elitserien season was the 35th season of Elitserien. It started on September 21, 2009, and ended on March 13, 2010. The playoffs started on March 18, 2010, and ended on April 24, 2010. HV71 won the playoffs, beating Timrå IK 4–1 in the quarter final series, Skellefteå AIK 4–1 in the semifinal series, and Djurgårdens IF 4–2 in the final series. The season had a mid-season break that started on February 9 and ended on February 26 to allow participation of Elitserien players in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
The 2004–05 Elitserien season was the 30th season of Elitserien. It started on September 20, 2004, with the regular season ending March 1, 2005. The playoffs of the 81st Swedish Championship ended on April 11, with Frölunda HC taking the championship.
