Perfumes of Singapore, formerly known as Perfumes of the Orient, was a defunct perfume company which produced the scent series called Girl. Notably, it produces the popular Singapore Girl Perfume in the 1960s and 1970s.

Perfumes of Singapore [1] owned several fragrance brands, but somehow Singapore Girl become very popular and even today, it is sometimes seen being sold at various antique auctions, online and offline. It was sold in most stores, malls and onboard Singapore Airlines. [2]

Christina Stone and Jeffrey Stone founded Perfumes of the Orient in 1962. Its factories were located in Jurong and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

After her divorce to Jeffrey, Christina married Indian businessman Dadi Balsara [3] [4] who rebranded the existing scents under the name Perfumes of Singapore. [5] The couple then launched a new scent series called 'Girl'. This included, Australian Girl, California Girl, Hawaii Girl, Hong Kong Girl & Singapore Girl. Of these, most popular was 'Singapore Girl'.

The company closed down in 2008 after Dadi Balsara secured support from the Indian government to undertake large scale projects in India.[ citation needed ]

Revived

Perfumes of Singapore was re-registered in 2016 by Prachi Saini Garg of Singapore Memories [6] and have started selling Reves De Singapour [7] and Singapore Girl again.

He has drawn praise for niche perfume creations as well as mainstream hits.

Heat is a perfume endorsed by American singer-songwriter Beyoncé. It was created by her alongside Claude Dir and Olivier Gillotin of the company Givaudan. The product, which was released on February 3, 2010, uses the tagline "catch the fever". The release was promoted with a cover version of "Fever" recorded by Beyoncé and a limited edition extended play (EP) also titled Heat. She also appeared at Macy's Herald Square to launch the perfume and on The Today Show where she discussed about Heat.

Ormonde Jayne is a London-based niche perfume house founded by Linda Pilkington in 2000. Begun as a line of scented candles, the house now makes perfumes as well. The perfumes are created by Pilkington and Geza Schoen.

Poison is a perfume for women introduced by Parfums Christian Dior in 1985. The popularity of the scent made it become a brand in its own right and resulted in the subsequent release of five flanker fragrances: Tendre Poison, Hypnotic Poison, Pure Poison, Midnight Poison, and Poison Girl.

Geza Schön is a German master perfumer born in Kassel and based in Berlin. He trained at Haarmann & Reimer and has worked with Diesel, Ormonde Jayne, FCUK, biehl parfumkunstwerke, and Boudicca. Schön founded Escentric Molecules, a perfume line that focuses on single molecules, in 2006. Aedes de Venustas is a niche perfume store and fragrance line. Aedes has operated in Manhattan since 1995. The house perfume line launched in 2012, although there was an earlier collaboration with L'Artisan Parfumeur creating a home fragrance (2005) and perfume (2008) also named Aedes de Venustas.
