Perkkaanpuiston Montessorikoulu (Finnish for "Perkkaanpuisto Montessori School") was a school unit within a public school offering for the very first time in Finland proper primary school classes using the Montessori method of teaching. The school unit was run by the city of Espoo. Prior to the opening of the school unit, the Montessori method had only been used in preschools.
The school was first founded as a separate Montessori subdivision of the primary school in Lintuvaara, Espoo. In the middle 1980s it moved to its own building in Perkkaa, Espoo. The school building was a mint greenwooden one-storey building divided into a large central "living room", two main classrooms and a teachers' area.
The school housed all six classes of the Finnish primary school (ala-aste) system. Because of the low number of students — only about 30 in the entire school — the classrooms were divided among the classes so that classes 1—3 had one room and classes 4—6 had another. The students also had free access to the teachers' area during breaks.
The central "living room" housed the school library and the school's pets: a couple of guinea pigs and some budgerigars.
The school building had to be torn down because of the mildew infested in the wooden walls in the late 1990s. A new standard (non-Montessori) school was built in its place and the Montessori classes moved to the Ruusutorppa primary school (Ruusutorpan ala-aste).

Operation Brotherhood Montessori Center Incorporated is an Italian-based school in the Philippines named after Maria Montessori. It was founded by former UNESCO-Philippines Secretary-General Amb. Preciosa Soliven in 1966. The mother organization Operation Brotherhood International was founded by Oscar G. Arellano. OBI provided medical help and community upliftment assistance to the war refugees in Vietnam and Laos. When OBI started operations in the Philippines in 1963, village projects became its first priority including schools for the poor. Ambassador Preciosa S. Soliven who had been teaching young children in Vietnam and later worked with a Swiss Montessori preschool teacher in Makati was asked by OBI to manage these schools. OB Montessori offers toddler, pre-school, elementary school, high school and college levels and is the first school in the Philippines to use the Montessori method. Oscar G. Arellano, founder of OBI Phils also opened another Montessori school in 1975. Smaller in scale compared to its neighbor and counterpart, OB Montessori Center. This little school is nestled in Barangay Addition Hills, San Juan City.
Maria Tecla Artemisia Montessori was an Italian physician and educator best known for the philosophy of education that bears her name, and her writing on scientific pedagogy. At an early age, Montessori broke gender barriers and expectations when she enrolled in classes at an all-boys technical school, with hopes of becoming an engineer. She soon had a change of heart and began medical school at the Sapienza University of Rome, where she graduated – with honors – in 1896. Her educational method is still in use today in many public and private schools throughout the world.

Holy Infant Montessori Center (HIMC), is a private non-sectarian institutional facility of Filipino basic education, offering K-12, situated in Caloocan City, Philippines, and operating as a recognized institution subject to the Division of City Schools of Caloocan. While a private school, the school site is the official polling station for Barangay BF Homes during national and local elections. The relatively small enrollment population of the school allows for more effective implementation of the Montessori method, and consequently, gives the school stature as one of the most acclaimed private schools in the city of Caloocan.
