Gustaf Allan Pettersson was a Swedish composer and violist. He is considered one of the 20th century's most important Swedish composers. In the final decade of his life, his symphonies developed an international following, particularly in Germany and Sweden. Of these, his best known work is Symphony No. 7. His music later found success in the United States. The conductors, Antal Doráti and Sergiu Comissiona, premiered and recorded several of his symphonies. Pettersson's song cycle Barefoot Songs influenced many of his compositions.
Bingolotto is a Swedish primetime television game show lottery that was first broadcast 1989 on local TV and since 1991 nationwide on the Swedish network TV4. The show is a collaboration work between Swedish TV channel TV4, the Swedish lottery game company Folkspel and the Swedish sports life. The show premiered on 16 January 1989 on the local TV channel Kållevisionen with the highly popular Leif "Loket" Olsson as show host. Since the beginning, the show has given 16 billion Swedish krona to the Swedish sports life centre.

The Ingmar Bergman Award was a Swedish film award, distributed between 1978 and 2007. It was instituted by legendary Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman, as a complement to the Guldbagge Awards. The jury consisted of Ingmar Bergman and the CEO of the Swedish Film Institute. The recipients were awarded a bronze plaque, depicting Bergman's face, and a sum of money. The award was first presented at the 14th Guldbagge Awards, and continued until Bergman's death in 2007.
Tore Mattias Bärjed is a Swedish musician, songwriter and music composer. Between 1997–2012 he was a guitarist for The Soundtrack of Our Lives, co-writing many of their songs, such as "Sister Surround", "Bigtime" and "Second Life Replay". Since around 2007 Bärjed has been active as a film music composer, and in 2015 he received the Guldbaggen award for his soundtrack to the film Gentlemen.
On 22 October 2015, 21-year-old Anton Lundin Pettersson attacked Kronan School in Trollhättan, Sweden, with a sword. He killed a teaching assistant and a male student, stabbed another male student and a teacher, and died later of the gunshot wounds he received during his apprehension. The second teacher who was wounded died in the hospital six weeks after the attack, on 3 December.

The film, a production between Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, is directed by Janus Metz Pedersen, from a screenplay written by Ronnie Sandahl, and stars Sverrir Gudnason, Shia LaBeouf, Stellan Skarsgård, Tuva Novotny, and Robert Emms. The film opened the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
