Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB) is the organization established under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Bangladesh as a regulatory body for pharmacy education and profession. [1] PCB training and registration is compulsory for people selling medicine. [2] [3]
The Bangladesh Pharmacy Council was established as a separate part of the Health Services Division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Bangladesh in 1976, which was later reorganized as the Pharmacy Act 2013. [1]

Pharmacy education is conducted in such public and private educational institutions through the development of good governance and management to achieve excellence in higher education and innovative research, to ensure the provision of overall facilities to universities and institutes of health technologies to build a sustainable socio-economic development and knowledge-based economy.

Three types of courses are conducted by PCB; Category A for undergraduate level, Category B for diploma certificate courses of one to three years duration, and Category C for three-month courses. [6] Bangladesh Pharmacy Council grants certificates after completion of various training and education in pharmacy from various educational institutions of the country. [1] A few years ago, this institution also gave certificates to graduates from various universities of the country on the basis of passing the examination, which later, due to the violation of the law, the provision of giving without examination has been introduced at present[ clarification needed ]. Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University is the first Pharmacy school in Thailand, located in Bangkok. The faculty was founded by Prince Rangsit Prayurasakdi on December 8, 1913 as a department of Doctor for Compounding in the Royal Medical College, commonly called "Rong Rean Prung Ya" which means "School of Compounding Medicine". After the establishment of Chulalongkorn University in 1916, the Royal Medical College became the Faculty of Medicine under the university. The department of Compounding Medicine also had been renamed to "Panak Phat Pasom Ya" or "Doctor for Compounding Medicine Department" since April 6, 1917. It is the first time that Pharmacy Education in Thailand has been elevated in higher educational system.
