Philip L. Brooks (born December 30, 1937) is an American former football coach. He was the head football coach at Alma College in Alma, Michigan, from 1971 to 1990. He is the author of the book Forward Pass: The Play that Saved Football. [1] He also authored "The Fields of Greed," a fiction genre in 2017.

Early life and playing career

Brooks earned first-team All-State honors in football in 1954 as a running back. Corunna football teams were 171 his last two years. Brooks graduated from Corunna High School in Corunna, Michigan in 1955. [2] Brooks earned a B.A. degree from Albion College in 1960, and an M.S. Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1968.

Coaching career

Brooks was the head football coach at Alma College in Alma, Michigan. [3] He held that position for 20 seasons, from 1971 until 1990. His coaching record at Alma was 96–86. [4]

David M. Nelson

David Moir Nelson was an American football player, coach, college athletics administrator, author, and authority on college football playing rules. He served as the head football coach at Hillsdale College (1946–1947), the University of Maine (1949–1950), and the University of Delaware (1951–1965), compiling a career record of 105–48–6. During his 15 years as the head coach at Delaware, he tallied a mark of 84–42–2 and gained fame as the father of the Wing T offensive formation. From 1951 to 1984, he served as Delaware's athletic director. In 1957, Nelson was named to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Football Rules Committee and in 1962 became its Secretary-Editor, a position he held for 29 years until his death, the longest tenure in Rules Committee history. In this role, he edited the official college football rulebook and provided interpretations on how the playing rules were to be applied to game situations. Nelson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1987.

LaVerne Harrison "Kip" Taylor was an American football player and coach. He served as the head coach at Oregon State College, now Oregon State University, from 1949 to 1954, compiling a record of 20–36. He played college football as an end as the University of Michigan from 1927 to 1930.

William John Cubit is an American football coach and former player. Cubit was the head football coach at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, first on an interim basis in the 2015 season and then promoted to the post full-time before his dismissal on March 5, 2016. Cubit served as the head football coach at Widener University from 1992 to 1996, and Western Michigan University from 2005 to 2012. Daniel Patrick Enos is an American football coach and former player who currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Maryland. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Miami. Enos served as head football coach at Central Michigan University from 2010 to 2014. He was also running backs coach for the Michigan State Spartans, where he played as a quarterback from 1987 to 1990.

Craig Rundle is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Saint Mary's College of California from 1986 to 1989, and Colorado College from 1990 to 1996, and Albion College from 1997 to 2018, compiling a career college football coaching record of 184–141–1. Rundle led Albion to seven Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) titles.

Marcus Kenyon Ray is an American football coach and former player. In college, he played for the Michigan Wolverines football team and was a member of the 1997 squad that won a national championship. Francis William Doolittle was an American football player and coach. Doolittle attended high school in Mansfield, Ohio, where he was selected as an all-state quarterback in his senior year. He enrolled at Ohio State University in 1941. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1943, served 53 months in the military and earned a Bronze Star for his service in the Pacific Theater before returning to Ohio State. He played college football as quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team in 1946 and 1947.

Tom Tarver is an American teacher who was formerly an American football quarterback, playing for the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights. He was the team's starting quarterback in 1990 and 1991. After college, he became a coach at Manalapan High School.

Curt Mallory American football player and coach (born 1969)

Curtiss Sweeney Mallory is an American football coach and former player who is currently the head coach at Indiana State. He has been a college football coach since 1995 and has held defensive coordinator positions at the University of Illinois and the University of Akron. Mallory had most recently been the defensive secondary coach at the University of Wyoming; he played college football for the Michigan Wolverines as a linebacker from 1989 to 1990.

Chris Tabor is an American football coach who is the special teams coordinator for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021 and the Cleveland Browns from 2011 to 2017 and has more than 20 years of coaching experience between the high school, collegiate and professional levels.
