John Philip Durack SC (born 18 May 1956) is an Australian barrister and former first-class cricketer.
The son of Peter Durack,he was born at Perth in May 1956. He later studied at the University of Western Australia,before going to England to study for his Bachelor of Civil Law at Magdalen College,Oxford. [1] While studying at Oxford,he played first-class cricket for Oxford University in 1980,making seven appearances. [2] In his seven matches,he scored 136 runs at an average of 10.46 with a high score of 45. [3] After graduating from Oxford,Durack returned to Australia where he is a practicing barrister. [4]
James Moffat Allan was a Scottish cricketer. He was an all-rounder who bowled slow left-arm orthodox and batted right-handed and was described by his Wisden obituary as "the best all-rounder Scotland ever produced".
Philip John Whitcombe is a former English first-class cricketer who played 34 matches between 1949 and 1953. 26 of these were for Oxford University,and eight for Worcestershire. He was a wicket-keeper,though he did play in some games as a batsman only.
