Philip H. Mirvis (born 1951) [1] is an organizational psychologist [2] and faculty member at Boston College, in the Center for Corporate Citizenship. [3] [4] He has written ten books on topics in large-scale organizational change, corporate governance, and the characteristics of the workforce and workplace. [4] He has served as an adviser on corporate social responsibility and sustainability to companies including Ben & Jerry's, Mitsubishi, PepsiCo, Royal Dutch Shell, SK Group, Unilever, and Wipro. [4]

Mirvis has a B.A. from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan. [5] He has taught at Boston University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the London Business School, and he has been a visiting researcher at the University of Pretoria and the International Executive Development Center in Bled, Slovenia. [5] He is a Senior Fellow in Social Innovation at the Lewis Institute at Babson College, [5] and a former trustee of the Society for Organizational Learning. [4]

With Managing the Merger coauthor Mitchell L. Marks, Mirvis was dubbed a "merger maven" by Fortune. [6]

Mirvis writes a blog on corporate social responsibility for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. [4] His writings on the topic have appeared in the Harvard Business Review , [7] the Journal of Business & Society, [4] Corporate Governance, [4] and California Management Review . Reception

In reviewing The Cynical Americans, Choice questioned "the nature of the evidentiary framework and the absence of logitudinal trends" presented, but noted that that concern did not weaken "the authors' premise of historical cycles or their very useful chapters on mechanisms to reduce worker cynicism". [1] Choice recommended Building the Competitive Workforce, for which Mirvis provided the opening and closing chapters, for "advanced undergraduate through professional collections". [10] They described Beyond Good Company as "thoroughly researched", and recommended it highly. [3]

John Elkington, originator of the triple bottom line, described the authors of Beyond Good Company as "a supergroup in their field". [11]

Disillusion is the fourth studio album by Japanese heavy metal band Loudness. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in London, England, in 1983 and released at the beginning of 1984. The sound engineer chosen for the recording sessions was the expert Julian Mendelsohn, who had previously worked with acts like Yes, Elton John, Jimmy Page and Bob Marley. The 2014–15 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team represented Villanova University in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by head coach Jay Wright in his 14th season, the Wildcats participated as members of the Big East Conference and played their home games at The Pavilion, with some select home games at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They finished the season 33–3, 16–2 in Big East play to win the Big East regular season championship. They defeated Marquette, Providence, and Xavier to win the Big East Tournament. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed in the East Region. They defeated Lafayette in the Second Round before being upset in the Third Round by NC State. The Wildcats set a single-season school record for wins with 33.

Scott Googins is an American college baseball coach who is the head coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats Baseball Team. Googins was hired on June 6, 2017. He left Xavier after being the skipper of the Musketeers baseball team since the start of the 2006 season. Under Googins, Xavier appeared in three NCAA Tournaments.
