Philip E. Satterthwaite is a British Old Testament scholar. He has been principal of Biblical Graduate School of Theology since 2011, succeeding Quek Swee Hwa to that position.
Satterthwaite obtained degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge before obtaining a PhD from the University of Manchester. Working under the supervision of Barnabas Lindars, his thesis was Narrative Artistry and the Composition of Judges 17-21 (1989). [1]
Satterthwaite was Assistant Editor of Tyndale Bulletin between 1993 and 1998.

Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning or Dropsie University was a Jewish institution of higher learning in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served as the General Secretary of the International Council of Christian Churches (ICCC), succeeding his father Quek Kiok Chiang in the office. He went on to become the Second Vice President of the ICCC until its 21st World Congress in June 2023 but remains as a member of its Executive Committee.
