Philippe Hannibal Price was a Haitian diplomat and author.
After the fall of President Michel Domingue,Price became a Counselor to the Provisional Government of 1875 and was a serious advocate of Florvil Hyppolite.
From 1890 to 1893 he served as Minister Plenipotentiary to Washington,D.C. It was during this time that he wrote his most famous book,De la Réhabilitation de la Race Noire par la République d'Haïti (English:On the Rehabilitation of the Black Race by the Republic of Haiti),published in 1893. Price died in Baltimore,Maryland of typhoid fever at the age of fifty-two. [1]
The flag of Haiti is the national flag of the Republic of Haiti. It is a bicolour flag featuring two horizontal bands coloured blue and red,emblazoned by a white rectangular panel bearing the coat of arms of Haiti. The coat of arms depicts a trophy of weapons atop a green hill and a royal palm symbolizing independence. The palm is topped by the Cap of Liberty. The motto L'Union fait la force appears on a white ribbon below the arrangement.

Pompée Valentin Vastey,or Pompée Valentin,Baron de Vastey,was a Haitian writer,educator,and politician. Vastey was what people at the time called a "mulatto," because he was born to a white French father and a black Haitian mother. He served as secretary to King Henri Christophe and tutor to Christophe's son,Victor Henri. Vastey also claimed to have fought in Toussaint's army and is said to have been the second cousin of the French novelist and playwright Alexandre Dumas. Vastey is best known for his essays on the history and contemporary circumstances of Haiti.
Massillon Coicou was a Haitian poet,novelist,playwright,and politician. Born in Port-au-Prince,Coicou was educated in a Catholic school for boys. He was appointed as the Haitian Chargéd'Affaires Étrangères for the Haitian Republic in France,where several of his works were published. Opposed to the presidency of Pierre Nord Alexis,Coicou publicly announced his intentions to overthrow Nord Alexis' government. He and his two brothers were subsequently executed by the President's orders on the night of 14–15 March 1908.
Demesvar Delorme was a Haitian theoretician,writer,and politician. Born in Cap-Haïtien,Delorme participated in Sylvain Salnave's failed rebellion against President Fabre Geffrard in 1865. After the fall of Geffrard and Salnave's election as President of Haiti in 1867,Delorme was appointed Minister of External Relations and Minister of Public Education and Cults. In 1868,Delorme was forced to leave the country and fled to Paris,France. He lived there in exile for ten years,publishing several works. One of his best known writings was the essay "Les Théoriciens au Pouvoir",which postulated that political power should belong to the intellectual elite.
Joseph Auguste Anténor Firmin,better known as Anténor Firmin,was a Haitian barrister and philosopher,pioneering anthropologist,journalist,and politician. Firmin is best known for his book De l'égalitédes races humaines,which was published in 1885 as a rebuttal to French writer Count Arthur de Gobineau's work Essai sur l'inégalitédes races humaines. Gobineau's book asserted the superiority of the Aryan race and the inferiority of Blacks and other people of color. Firmin's book argued the opposite,that "all men are endowed with the same qualities and the same faults,without distinction of color or anatomical form. The races are equal". He was marginalized at the time for his beliefs that all human races were equal.
