Philippe Hannibal Price was a Haitian diplomat and author.
After the fall of President Michel Domingue,Price became a Counselor to the Provisional Government of 1875 and was a serious advocate of Florvil Hyppolite.
From 1890 to 1893 he served as Minister Plenipotentiary to Washington,D.C. It was during this time that he wrote his most famous book,De la Réhabilitation de la Race Noire par la République d'Haïti (English:On the Rehabilitation of the Black Race by the Republic of Haiti),published in 1893. Price died in Baltimore,Maryland of typhoid fever at the age of fifty-two. [1]
The flag of Haiti is the national flag of the Republic of Haiti. It is a bicolour flag featuring two horizontal bands coloured blue and red,emblazoned by a white rectangular panel bearing the coat of arms of Haiti. The coat of arms depicts a trophy of weapons atop a green hill and a royal palm symbolizing independence. The palm is topped by the Cap of Liberty. Louis Félix Mathurin Boisrond-Tonnerre,better known as simply Boisrond-Tonnerre,was a Haitian writer and historian who is best known for having served as Jean-Jacques Dessalines' secretary. Boisrond-Tonnerre was educated in Paris until 1798 when he returned to Haiti. He is the author of the 1804 Haitian Declaration of Independence,which formally declared Haiti's independence from the colonial rule of France. He is also known for his work chronicling the Haitian Revolution,Mémoires pour Servir àl'Histoire d'Haïti.
Alexis Beaubrun Ardouin was a Haitian historian and politician. He wrote the eleven-volume Études sur l'Histoire d'Haïti,published in the 1850s and 60s. His Études have served as a valuable resource for later historians. Beaubrun Ardouin also wrote the first Haitian textbook,Géographie de l'île d'Haïti and Instruction sur le Jury. Ardouin's historical writing attempted to put the Haitian Revolution in the context of other nationalist revolutions in the Americas. He had Euro-African ancestry and his family was free before the revolution. He has been criticized by 20th-century scholars for championing free people of color as the leaders both of the revolution and of post-independence Haiti.
Thomas Madiou was a Haitian historian. His work Histoire d'Haïti is the first complete history of Haiti from 1492 to 1846. It is considered one of the most valuable documents of Haitian history and literature.
Massillon Coicou was a Haitian poet,novelist,playwright,and politician. Born in Port-au-Prince,Coicou was educated in a Catholic school for boys. He was appointed as the Haitian Chargéd'Affaires Étrangères for the Haitian Republic in France,where several of his works were published. Opposed to the presidency of Pierre Nord Alexis,Coicou publicly announced his intentions to overthrow Nord Alexis' government. He and his two brothers were subsequently executed by the President's orders on the night of 14–15 March 1908.
Joseph Auguste Anténor Firmin,better known as Anténor Firmin,was a Haitian barrister and philosopher,pioneering anthropologist,journalist,and politician. Firmin is best known for his book De l'égalitédes races humaines,which was published in 1885 as a rebuttal to French writer Count Arthur de Gobineau's work Essai sur l'inégalitédes races humaines. Gobineau's book asserted the superiority of the Aryan race and the inferiority of Blacks and other people of color. Firmin's book argued the opposite,that "all men are endowed with the same qualities and the same faults,without distinction of color or anatomical form. The races are equal". He was marginalized at the time for his beliefs that all human races were equal.

During her lifetime,she published under the name Marie Chauvet.

Antoine Simon closed it in 1910,and it was succeeded by the National Bank of the Republic of Haiti,also established in Paris.
