Philippe Schaaf (born 1 April 1968) is a French team handball player.
With the French national team, he won a silver medal at the 1993 World Championship and at 1993 Mediterranean Games and a gold medal at the 1994 Goodwill Games. But at the 1996 Summer Olympics, he only placed 4th. [2]
With clubs, he won the Coupe de France with US Ivry in 1996 and Swiss Handball League with TV Suhr in 2000. He also has been runner-up of DHB-Pokal with TV Niederwürzbach in 1998.
The Croatia national handball team represents Croatia in international men's team handball competitions and friendly matches. The handball team is controlled by the Croatian Handball Federation (HRS).
The France national handball team is supervised by the French Handball Federation, and represents France in international matches. It is the first handball team to have held all three titles twice, and the only national team in its sport to hold six world titles and a total of eleven medals at the World Men's Handball Championship. With a total of five medals, including three gold in 2008, 2012 and 2021, France is also the most successful Handball team at the Summer Olympics. As of January 2024, they are the defending European Champions.
Jackson Richardson is a retired French handball player. Regarded as one of the best and most influential handball players of his era, Richardson won fourteen titles at club level and the World Championship in 1995 and 2001 with the French national team. He was awarded IHF World Player of the Year in 1995, and voted the most valuable player at the World Championships in 1990 and 1995, and the 2000 European Championship.
Guðmundur Þórður Guðmundsson is an Icelandic handball coach and former player. In 2016, he guided Denmark men's team to gold in the 2016 Olympics. In 2008, he won silver with the Icelandic men's national team at the 2008 Olympic games in China.
Irfan "Pipe" Smajlagić is a Bosnian-born Croatian former handball player and current coach Borac Banja Luka and most recently coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina who competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics for Yugoslavia and in the 1996 Summer Olympics for Croatia.

Igor Vori is a Croatian handball coach and former player who is currently the coach of Croatian club MRK Sesvete. Regarded as one of the best line players in handball history and renowned for his defensive and attacking abilities, Vori won the 2003 World Championship and the Olympic gold medal in 2004 with the Croatian national team, and over thirty club titles playing for RK Zagreb, FC Barcelona, HSV Hamburg and Paris Saint-Germain. He holds the record for most appearances for the Croatian national team with 246 caps.
Beáta Siti is a Hungarian former handball player, and later coach. During her active career she was European champion and silver medalist from both World Championships and the Olympic Games. Her biggest success with the national team was in 2000, when she obtained the gold medal at the European Championship.
Hong Jeong-Ho is a retired South Korean team handball player, Olympic and World champion. She is now based in Seoul and is involved in youth handball and also an expert commentator on TV.

Gunnar Robert Hedin is a Swedish handball coach and retired player who won silver medals at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 1993 World Championships, playing alongside his younger brother Tony. In 2008 he became coach of the Norwegian national handball team. As of 2023, he is the head coach of the United States men's national handball team.

Founded on 1 September 1941, FFHB organizes handball and beach handball within France and represents France internationally. It sorts under the French Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The federation is a member of the European Handball Federation (EHF), Mediterranean Handball Confederation and the International Handball Federation (IHF). The men's handball tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 14th edition of the handball event for men at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held from 24 July to 7 August 2021. All games were played at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
