Nikola Grbić is a Serbian professional volleyball coach and former player, a head coach of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. He has been a member of Yugoslavia in 1995–2003, Serbia and Montenegro in 2003–2006 and Serbia in 2006–2010, gold medalist of the Olympic Games Sydney 2000, bronze medalist of the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, also participant of the Olympic Games, multimedalist of the World Championships, European Championships and World League, a two–time Italian Champion, Russian Champion (2014). He was named European Player of the Year in 2007 and inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2016.

The final four was held at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama.

The 2016 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 27th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament which was played by a record of 36 teams from 16 June to 17 July 2016. The Group 1 final round was held in Kraków, Poland. After being runners-up on five different occasions, Serbia finally claimed their first World League after prevailing over Brazil in straight sets. The defending champions France claimed their first ever bronze medal at the World League after a fast victory in straight sets against Italy. Marko Ivović was elected the most valuable player.

The competition was first contested in 1989 in Italy. It was not held between 1993 and 2008, but since 2009, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar and Brazil.

The FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The first tournament took place between May and July 2018, with the final taking place in Lille, France. Russia won the inaugural edition, defeating France in the final. In July 2018, FIVB announced that USA would host the next three editions of the Men’s Volleyball Nations League Finals, from 2019–2021.
